The 11th Lord in the 2nd House

The 11th lord in the 2nd house is the ruler of the 11th, the Labha Bhava, placed in the 2nd, the Dhana Bhava. The 11th is an upachaya and the 2nd in none of them. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 11th, the 2nd is the 4th house, which from any house is a kendra position; counted back from the 2nd, the 11th is the 10th, a kendra and an upachaya position from it.

The Sun and the Moon rule one sign each, so for Virgo and Libra, where one of them is the 11th lord, it rules no other house; for the other ten the last column gives the second house the 11th lord brings with it to the 2nd.

For Leo ascendant the 11th lord, Mercury, also rules the 2nd, so in the 2nd it sits in its own other sign, Virgo. For Aquarius ascendant the 11th lord, Jupiter, also rules the 2nd, so in the 2nd it sits in its own other sign, Pisces.

The Reverse: the 2nd Lord in the 11th

Where the 2nd lord sits in the 11th in the same chart as the 11th lord in the 2nd, each lord occupies the other’s sign, an exchange the texts call parivartana. That is possible for ten ascendants. For Leo (Mercury) and Aquarius (Jupiter) one graha rules both the 11th and the 2nd, so there is nothing to exchange.
