So the Moon shares Libra with both an exaltation degree and a debilitation degree belonging to other grahas. A graha sitting close to either point is read against it, which is a reason the exact degree matters more in Libra than in a sign carrying neither. Those visits are not equal, and the variation is real rather than rounding. The Moon’s longest stay in Libra is 60h29m, beginning 11 January 2026; its shortest is 52h30m, beginning 1 October 2027 — a spread of 7h59m. The cause is the Moon’s elliptical orbit: it travels slowest near apogee and fastest near perigee, so a sign it crosses near apogee holds it well over two and a half days, and the same sign crossed near perigee barely two.

The Moon also combusts: within 12° of the Sun, which is why an Amavasya birth carries a weak Moon. A combust Moon in Libra is read as weakened whatever the dignity above says, which is the standard case where the textbook verdict and the actual sky disagree.
