The 6th Lord for Libra Ascendant: Jupiter
6th house = Pisces · lord Jupiter · also lord of the 3rd
With Libra rising, the 6th house is Pisces, the 6th sign counted from Libra, and Pisces is ruled by Jupiter. So for Libra ascendant the 6th lord is Jupiter, which also rules the 3rd through Sagittarius: one graha holds the 6th and the 3rd together for this ascendant. The 6th is a dusthana and an upachaya, and the 3rd an upachaya.
The lagna lord, Venus, counts Jupiter neutral, while Jupiter counts Venus an enemy: for Libra ascendant the 1st and 6th lords do not see each other the same way. The 6th’s matters are debts and loans, service and routine and enemies; with Libra rising they sit in Pisces, a dual water sign that is the 12th of the natural zodiac.
Pisces as the 6th House of Libra Ascendant
Pisces exalts Venus, deepest at 27°, so for Libra ascendant Venus is exalted in the 6th; it debilitates Mercury at 15°, so Mercury is debilitated in the 6th. The house holds Purva Bhadrapada (pada 4), Uttara Bhadrapada (all four padas) and Revati (all four padas), whose lords are Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury; Jupiter rules one of them, Purva Bhadrapada, so for Libra ascendant the 6th lord also owns a nakshatra inside the 6th. Opposite, across the chart, the 12th holds Virgo, ruled by Mercury.
