Sagittarius Rashifal December 2027 (Dhanu Rashi): The Sun Reaches Your Own Sign at 4:33 pm on the Sixteenth and Closes the Calendar Named After You

At 4:33 pm on Thursday 16 December the Sun crosses into Sagittarius. That instant is Dhanu Sankranti, and it carries your sign’s name because it is your sign the Sun is entering. It lands on a Thursday, which is Jupiter’s weekday, and Jupiter rules Dhanu.

The same instant starts Dhanu Kharmas, the stretch in which the traditional calendar does not sanction weddings, running from that afternoon to the middle of January. So the Sun’s arrival on your own rashi is exactly what shuts the wedding calendar for the rest of the year — sixteen of December’s thirty-one days fall inside it. No other sign has its name attached to both halves of that event.

And the Sun is not arriving at an empty sign. Read the first fortnight and the second as two different months. Until the middle of December your rashi holds Venus and Mars: the pleasant planet and the forceful one, both in Moola to begin with, with Venus moving into Purva Ashadha at 8:22 pm on Wednesday the 1st and Mars following at 11:16 pm on Sunday the 5th. That is a sociable, energetic, slightly impatient combination, and it is the strongest fortnight of the month for anything you want to push through on charm and drive together.

From the middle of the month your rashi holds the Sun and Mercury instead. That is a completely different register: visible, official, verbal, and answerable. The Sun on the rashi is the annual month in which you are looked at whether or not you want to be. Mercury is the complication. It turns direct at 8:45 am on Friday 24 December, at 26°50′ of Revati pada 4, the last quarter of the last nakshatra of the zodiac. Retrograde Kantaka Shani is the version that keeps going back over the same domestic ground. Forward Kantaka Shani is still work, but it is work that accumulates. If a household matter has been circling since Saturn turned, that morning is when it stops circling.

A station is printed to the minute here while Saturn’s sign changes are not, and the distinction matters. A station follows only from the geometry between the Earth and the planet, so any competent ephemeris agrees on it. A sign boundary crossed at twenty-six arcminutes a month depends on where the boundary is drawn, which depends on the ayanamsa a table uses. One is a fact about the solar system; the other is a fact about a convention.

Saturn also owns your second and third houses, and your second house is where December’s crowd gathers. So the planet under the most classical pressure this month is also the dispositor of everything arriving in your house of income — and it starts moving forward three days before the last of those arrivals.

Venus reaches Rahu’s own degree, 9°44′ of Capricorn, around Thursday 23 December. This one is deliberately given as a date and not a clock time. Our table computes the node on the mean model; the mean and true node can stand as much as one and three-quarter degrees apart, and Venus covers a little over a degree a day, so the choice of model shifts the event by more than a day. Where the arithmetic supports a minute this page prints one, as it does for Saturn’s station. Here it does not.

Venus with Rahu in the house of income is the configuration that makes a number look better than it is — a projection, a quote, a valuation. An exalted Mars in the same house from the 27th adds real capacity to actually earn it. One arithmetical correction to a claim you may see elsewhere: Mars does not catch Rahu in December. It enters Capricorn at zero degrees and reaches only 3°29′ by the 31st, while Rahu is at 9°17′ — five degrees forty-eight minutes short. They share a sign for five days; they do not meet.

The Annual New Moon On Your Own Sign

The New Moon forms on your own sign at 1:42 am on Tuesday 28 December, at 11°36′ of Sagittarius in Moola pada 4. A New Moon is the Sun and the Moon at the same degree, so this happens on Dhanu once a year and no more — it is your annual reset, and this year it falls three days before the calendar year ends.

There is a small symmetry in the degree. Venus stood at 12°17′ on the 1st, in that same fourth pada of Moola, and the lunation lands at 11°36′ — the month begins and ends in the same quarter of the same nakshatra, with a different pair of bodies. Moola’s lord is Ketu, which sits in your eighth house all December, and the Sun is inside Moola on your sign from the 16th to the 29th.

The Full Moon two weeks earlier lands in your sixth house at 9:38 pm on Monday 13 December, at 27°12′ of Taurus in Mrigashira pada 2, under Jupiter’s aspect. Sixth-house lunations bring a health matter, a workplace friction or a debt to a head, and a benefic aspect on it is the difference between a crisis and a resolution.

The Moon Stands On Dhanu Twice This Month

The Moon takes about two and a half days to cross a sign, so most signs get exactly one visit in a calendar month. December gives Dhanu two.
