Virgo Rashifal October 2027 (Kanya Rashi): Your Ruler Comes Back to Your Own Sign Exalted and Turns Direct There With the Moon Still on Kanya
Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji
Kanya Rashi has a distinction no other sign has. Virgo is the sign Mercury owns and also the sign in which Mercury is exalted — the only place in the zodiac where ownership and exaltation coincide. In October 2027 your ruler comes back to it. Retrograde Mercury reverses across the boundary into Virgo at 8:16 am on Thursday 21 October and turns direct there at 7:40 pm on Thursday 28 October, at 25°58′, in Chitra pada 1.
Now the part that is true only of Kanya. The Moon holds your sign from 8:10 pm on Tuesday 26 October to 10:59 pm on Thursday 28 October — fifty hours forty-nine minutes. Your exalted ruler stations direct forty-seven hours thirty minutes into that window, with three hours nineteen minutes left before the Moon leaves. The evening of the 28th has the Moon on your rashi and Mercury, on the same rashi, exalted, resuming forward motion. That coincidence is not repeated for any other sign this month.
The month has a second gift, and it is slower. On 20 October Saturn retrogrades out of Aries, your eighth house, into Pisces, your seventh. Three things improve in one move: its debilitation ends, your Ashtama Shani ends, and it arrives in the seventh house — the one house in which Saturn holds directional strength.
The Whole Retrograde, and Why the Minutes Are Publishable
Mercury turns retrograde at 8:06 pm on Thursday 7 October and direct at 7:40 pm on Thursday 28 October — twenty days and twenty-three hours thirty-four minutes, two thirds of the month. Both instants are given to the minute on purpose. A station is intrinsic to the geometry: it is the moment apparent motion reverses, and no choice of ayanamsa moves it. Saturn’s change of sign on the 20th, by contrast, gets only a day, because Saturn is crawling at 0.079° a day there and a published clock time would be false precision.
Because your ruler is the one going backwards, the retrograde is personal rather than incidental. Net motion for the month is negative: Mercury starts at 8°18′ of Libra and ends at 25°58′ of Virgo, a movement of minus 12°20′ — the only negative figure in the sky this month. Finish paperwork before the evening of the 7th, or leave it until after the evening of the 28th.
The useful reading for Kanya is that the reversal takes your ruler somewhere better. It goes from 8°18′ of Libra, an ordinary placement in your second house, back to your own sign, exalted, where it finishes the month moving forwards. See our Budh remedies and Wednesday fasting pages.
Ashtama Shani Ends, and Saturn Reaches Its Strongest House
Saturn in the eighth house from the Moon sign is Ashtama Shani, and for Kanya it has been running with Saturn additionally in its own debilitation. On 20 October both conditions end together. Retrograde Saturn crosses back into Pisces and lands in your seventh house, where it holds dig bala — directional strength — the only house of the twelve in which Saturn is said to be at its most effective.
Read the trade honestly. Saturn in the seventh is not a soft placement for a marriage or a partnership: it brings duty, seriousness, age difference, distance, and a demand that the relationship be functional rather than pleasant. What it is not is destructive. A strong Saturn in the seventh usually asks a partnership to grow up. And in your case the pressure it relieves — the eighth-house transit, and its own fall — is the harder of the two.
The Full Moon had already lit that seventh house. It forms at 7:17 pm on Friday 15 October, at 27°42′ of Pisces, in Revati pada 4 — and Saturn reverses into that same Revati pada 4 five days later. So whatever the Full Moon showed you about a partner, a client or an opponent is what Saturn then takes up and formalises. Sharad Purnima falls on Thursday 14 October, and its tithi runs out at that Full Moon instant.
Your Own Sign Falls One Planet and Exalts Another
October opens with a debilitated Venus standing on Kanya. Virgo is Venus’s sign of debilitation, and it stays there until 6:20 pm on Sunday 3 October, when it crosses into Libra — its own sign — and steps out of its fall in the same instant. The Sun is also on your rashi, until 2:03 am on Monday 18 October.
So Kanya spends the first seventeen days hosting the Sun, hands it over at Tula Sankranti, sits empty for three days, and then receives its own exalted ruler from the 21st. The same twelve degrees of zodiac that hold Venus at its weakest hold Mercury at its strongest. That is a fact about the sign rather than about the month, and it is the reason Kanya reads as exacting rather than indulgent.
One more detail on the calendar edges: the month also opens with the Moon on your sign. It had arrived on 29 September and leaves at 1:26 pm on Friday 1 October. So Kanya gets the Moon at both ends of October — a partial window on the 1st and the full fifty-hour-forty-nine-minute stay from the 26th.
Everything Else Is in Your Second House
Libra is your second house of savings, earnings, family and speech, and it is the busiest house in the sky this month. Mars is there to 1:21 am on Friday 8 October. Venus arrives in its own sign on the 3rd and stays to 9:53 pm on Wednesday 27 October. Mercury is there from the first day until the 21st. The Sun arrives debilitated at 2:03 am on Monday 18 October.
Both of October’s exact conjunctions land there too. Mercury and Venus are exact at 9°46′ of Libra at 3:02 pm on Monday 11 October. The Sun and Mercury are exact at 1°47′ of Libra at 9:00 pm on Tuesday 19 October. And the New Moon forms there at 11°42′ of Libra, in Swati pada 2, at 7:06 pm on Friday 29 October.
For Kanya that concentration reads as a month about money and about what you say. Venus in its own sign in the second house for most of October is genuinely good for earnings and for the tone of family conversation; the debilitated Sun there from the 18th is the caution, and it shows as pride getting into a financial discussion. With Mercury retrograde across the same weeks, hold the numbers loosely until the 28th.
The Month’s Fixed Points
- Friday 1 October — the Sun at 13°08′ of Hasta and a debilitated Venus on your rashi, with the Moon leaving your sign at 1:26 pm; Mercury and Mars in your second; Jupiter at 19°58′ of Purva Phalguni in your twelfth; Saturn debilitated in your eighth; Rahu in your fifth, Ketu in your eleventh. Sharad Navratri, which began on 30 September, is running.
- Sunday 3 October, 6:20 pm — Venus leaves your rashi for your second house, in its own sign, out of debilitation.
- Thursday 7 October, 8:06 pm — your ruler turns retrograde in your second house. Durga Ashtami falls on Thursday 7 October. The ashtami tithi spans two sunrises that year, so some panchangs place the observance a day later — check your family’s.
- Friday 8 October, 1:21 am — Mars leaves your second house for your third and is in its own sign there for the rest of the month.
- Saturday 9 October — Maha Navami. Dussehra falls on Saturday 9 October. That day’s panchang.

- Tuesday 19 October, 9:00 pm — the Sun and Mercury are exact at 1°47′ of Libra in your second house; Venus enters Vishakha at 8:40 pm. Karva Chauth falls on Tuesday 19 October.
- Wednesday 20 October — Saturn leaves your eighth house for your seventh: its debilitation ends and your Ashtama Shani ends. A day, not a minute: at 0.079° a day the boundary is ayanamsa-dependent.
- Thursday 21 October, 8:16 am — your retrograde ruler reverses back onto Kanya Rashi, exalted, for the rest of the month.
- Tuesday 26 October, 8:10 pm — the Moon arrives on Kanya Rashi for fifty hours forty-nine minutes, leaving at 10:59 pm on Thursday the 28th.

Week by Week
Thirty-one days running Friday to Sunday. Five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays; four each of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday is your ruler’s day and October gives four — the 6th with Mercury direct, the 13th and 20th with it retrograde, and the 27th with it retrograde on your own sign and exalted.
1–7 October
The Moon leaves your sign at 1:26 pm on Friday the 1st; the debilitated Venus leaves it at 6:20 pm on Sunday the 3rd and reaches its own sign; your ruler turns retrograde at 8:06 pm on Thursday the 7th. Durga Ashtami falls on Thursday 7 October. These are the only seven days of the month with Mercury moving forwards, so anything requiring a signature belongs here.
8–14 October
Mars reaches its own sign in your third house at 1:21 am on Friday the 8th. Venus enters Swati at 3:05 am on Saturday the 9th; the Sun enters Chitra on your rashi at 8:26 am and Mercury and Venus are exact at 3:02 pm on Monday the 11th; Mars enters Anuradha at 6:50 pm on Tuesday the 12th. Dussehra falls on Saturday 9 October. Sharad Purnima falls on Thursday 14 October.
15–21 October
The week the month turns for you, and everything in it is an improvement. The Full Moon forms in your seventh house at 7:17 pm on Friday the 15th; Tula Sankranti takes the Sun off your rashi at 2:03 am on Monday the 18th; the Sun and Mercury are exact at 9:00 pm on Tuesday the 19th; your Ashtama Shani ends on Wednesday the 20th; and your ruler returns to your own sign, exalted, at 8:16 am on Thursday the 21st. Karva Chauth falls on Tuesday 19 October.
22–28 October
The best week of your month. An exalted Mercury sits on your rashi throughout; the Moon joins it at 8:10 pm on Tuesday the 26th; and at 7:40 pm on Thursday the 28th Mercury turns direct with the Moon still there, three hours nineteen minutes before it leaves. Venus crosses into your third house at 9:53 pm on Wednesday the 27th. Dhanteras falls on Wednesday 27 October. Narak Chaturdashi falls on Thursday 28 October.
29–31 October
The New Moon forms in your second house at 7:06 pm on Friday the 29th at 11°42′ of Libra, in Swati pada 2. Diwali falls on Friday 29 October. Venus enters Anuradha at 2:17 pm on Saturday the 30th and Mars enters Jyeshtha at 7:57 am on Sunday the 31st. Govardhan Puja falls on Saturday 30 October. Bhai Dooj falls on Sunday 31 October. With your ruler exalted and direct on your own sign, these three days are the strongest of the month to begin something.
Career and Money for Kanya Rashi
Gemini is your tenth house and it stays empty for all thirty-one days, so October has no direct career event. What it has is a ruler that governs both your rashi and your tenth house — Mercury owns Gemini too — and that ruler ends the month exalted, on your own sign, and direct. In practice the professional gain of October arrives through competence being recognised rather than through a change of role.
Money is where the month is loud. Five bodies cross your second house, both exact conjunctions happen there, and the Diwali New Moon forms there at 7:06 pm on 29 October. Venus in its own sign in that house from the 3rd to the 27th is the strongest earning support of the quarter. The caution is Mercury retrograde from the evening of the 7th to the evening of the 28th, which covers the whole of the crowded stretch — so negotiate in October and commit at the end of it.
Mars reaching its own sign in your third house at 1:21 am on the 8th, where it stays, favours direct effort, short trips and a willingness to ask twice. See our financial remedies and career remedies pages.
Home, Family and Partnership
Partnership is the house that changes. Your seventh house takes the Full Moon on the 15th and Saturn from the 20th, in the same Revati pada. Saturn there holds directional strength, so the placement is effective rather than weak — and effective Saturn in the seventh means a partnership run on obligation, structure and honesty. If a relationship has been vague, October ends the vagueness.
The wedding calendar itself stays shut for the whole month, because Chaturmas runs to Devuthani Ekadashi in November. See the marriage muhurat page for October 2027 and our marriage delay page.
Home is quiet: Sagittarius, your fourth house, is empty all month, and its lord Jupiter sits in your twelfth house throughout, from 19°58′ to 26°00′ of Purva Phalguni. Jupiter in the twelfth is the classical placement for expenditure that is worth it — travel, charity, study, a retreat — rather than for waste. If a property step is planned, the griha pravesh page for October 2027 and the business and property page give the dates, and the window after the 28th is the cleaner one.
Health
The eighth house governs chronic conditions and longevity, and October empties yours: Saturn leaves it on the 20th and nothing replaces it. For a sign that has been carrying Ashtama Shani, that is the single most useful line on this page. Aquarius, your sixth house of illness, is also empty for all thirty-one days.
Kanya’s standing weak points are the intestines, digestion and the nervous system, all Mercury-governed — and Mercury is retrograde for two thirds of the month before ending it exalted on your own sign. Read the first three weeks as mental overload and irregular routine, and the last ten days as recovery. Your Chandra window is 8:10 pm on 26 October to 10:59 pm on 28 October, fifty hours forty-nine minutes, and your exalted ruler turns direct forty-seven hours thirty minutes into it — the best rest of the month, and the best two days of it to resume anything you had let slip.
Remedies for Kanya Rashi in October 2027
Four conditions define the month: your ruler retrograde from 8:06 pm on 7 October, reversing back onto your own sign exalted at 8:16 am on 21 October, and turning direct there at 7:40 pm on 28 October with the Moon still on Kanya; Ashtama Shani and Saturn’s debilitation both ending on 20 October; a Full Moon in your seventh house on the 15th in the pada Saturn then enters; and five bodies plus the Diwali New Moon through your second house.
- Do the important thing on the evening of 28 October or the day after: your exalted ruler turns direct on your own sign at 7:40 pm with the Moon still there for another three hours nineteen minutes. Nothing else in the month matches it.
- Keep signatures out of 7–28 October: Mercury is retrograde across the whole of that stretch and your second house of money is where the month’s traffic is.
- Budh practice on the four Wednesdays — 6, 13, 20 and 27 October: green moong, something written and given away, and a page read carefully. The 27th falls with Mercury exalted on your own sign. See Budh remedies.
- Mark 20 October as the day the eighth-house pressure lifts: Saturn leaves both your eighth house and its own debilitation, and nothing takes its place there for the rest of the month.
- Put the partnership conversation after the 20th rather than before: Saturn arriving in your seventh house with directional strength makes an honest discussion productive, where the eighth-house weeks made it evasive.
- Use 3–27 October for earning rather than spending: Venus is in its own sign in your second house across that window, which is the strongest financial support you get this quarter.
- Shani practice on the five Saturdays — 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 October: sesame oil, black til, and help given to someone doing hard physical work. The last two fall after your Ashtama Shani has ended. See Saturday fasting and Shani dosh.
In Summary
For Kanya Rashi, October 2027 ends far better than it begins. Your ruler turns retrograde at 8:06 pm on 7 October, travels backwards for twenty days and twenty-three hours thirty-four minutes, and lands back on your own sign — the only sign in the zodiac that is both Mercury’s house and its exaltation — at 8:16 am on Thursday 21 October. It then turns direct there at 7:40 pm on Thursday 28 October, forty-seven hours thirty minutes into the Moon’s fifty-hour-forty-nine-minute stay on Kanya, with three hours nineteen minutes to spare.
The slower gain is Saturn’s. On 20 October it retrogrades out of your eighth house into your seventh, ending its debilitation and your Ashtama Shani together, and arriving in the one house where Saturn holds directional strength — five days after the Full Moon of the 15th lit that house at 27°42′ of Pisces, in the same Revati pada 4 it moves into. Meanwhile your second house takes five bodies, both exact conjunctions and the Diwali New Moon at 7:06 pm on 29 October.
All of this is sign-level arithmetic. Which of the nine Kanya padas holds your natal Moon, where Mercury and Saturn sit in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it reaches you. For more, read September’s reading, what Kanya Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our page on Mercury in Vedic astrology.
An exalted ruler turning direct on your own sign
How much the 28th delivers depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon, where Mercury and Saturn sit in your own chart, and which dasha is running — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
