Virgo Rashifal September 2027 (Kanya Rashi): Your Ruler Sits Exalted on Your Own Sign, and the Month Ends With a New Moon in Its Nakshatra

Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji

Mercury is the only planet in the classical scheme whose own sign and exaltation sign are the same sign, and that sign is Virgo. So when Mercury stands on Kanya Rashi it is swakshetra and uchcha at once — at home and at maximum strength in the same degree. September 2027 opens with your ruler in exactly that condition, and it holds it until 6:15 pm on Tuesday 21 September: twenty days and eighteen hours.

Two more bodies then come to stand on your sign, and they arrive in opposite conditions. Venus crosses in at 2:36 pm on Thursday 9 September debilitated — Virgo is the one sign in which Venus falls — and stays weak for the rest of the month. The Sun crosses in at 2:04 pm on Friday 17 September, and that ingress is Kanya Sankranti, the solar month named after your own sign.

The month then closes on your sign as well. The New Moon forms at 8:06 am on Thursday 30 September at 12°30′ of Virgo, in Hasta pada 1 — Mercury’s own nakshatra — and that same instant is where Sarva Pitru Amavasya ends and Sharad Navratri begins. Very few months put a sign’s ruler, its Sankranti and its New Moon on the rashi itself. This one does.

Twenty Days of a Ruler at Full Strength

Mercury covers 36.82° in September, more ground than any other planet this month — from 1°29′ of Uttara Phalguni to 8°18′ of Swati. Two of those crossings matter to you. It enters Hasta, its own nakshatra, at 12:12 pm on Monday 6 September, and Chitra at 3:40 am on Thursday 16 September.

The ten days between those two instants are the strongest configuration your ruler reaches all year: exalted, in its own sign, on your rashi, in its own nakshatra. If a single decision in 2027 needs precision, clear language and a good memory for detail, put it between 6 September and 16 September.

After 6:15 pm on the 21st, Mercury leaves for Libra and your second house, where Mars has been sitting alone all month. Mercury in the second is for money conversations and for saying exactly what a thing is worth; with Mars there too, the last nine days of September are unusually direct about money. See our Budh remedies and Wednesday observance pages.

Ashtama Shani Continues

Saturn spends all thirty days in Aries — debilitated, retrograde on every one of them, drifting from 3°13′ back to 1°30′ of Ashwini. Aries is your eighth house, and Saturn transiting the eighth from the janma rashi is Ashtama Shani, the transit the classical texts treat most cautiously after Sade Sati itself.

Two things make September’s version of it more workable than its reputation. Saturn is debilitated, so it acts with less force. And it is retrograde all month, losing one degree forty-three minutes, so it is revisiting ground rather than breaking new ground — the eighth-house material of September is material you have already met.

The eighth house governs joint finances, tax, insurance, inheritance, surgery and everything that is not spoken about openly. Ashtama Shani’s honest signature is chronic rather than acute: fatigue, a sense of obstruction, and delay in matters where someone else controls the paperwork. Against it you have a ruler at full strength for twenty days — which is exactly the instrument for handling paperwork someone else controls. See our Shani remedies, Shani dosh and Sade Sati pages.

A Debilitated Venus on Your Own Sign

From 2:36 pm on the 9th to the end of the month, Venus stands on Kanya Rashi in its sign of debilitation. Shukra asta ends on 17 September, so it also becomes visible mid-month — visible and weak, which is the combination that produces poor judgment about appearance, comfort and cost.

For Kanya natives specifically, Venus rules the second and ninth houses, so a fallen Venus on the rashi tends to show up as money spent on the wrong thing and as an uncharacteristic impatience with advice. The correction is not austerity but timing: hold discretionary purchases until October, when Venus leaves Virgo.

There is a second, subtler effect. A debilitated Venus on the rashi lowers the sense of being at ease in oneself — and Virgo, which already tends to self-criticism, feels that more than most signs. Venus enters Hasta at 3:57 pm on the 17th and Chitra at 9:34 am on the 28th, both on your sign. See our Shukra remedies and Friday fasting pages.

The Moon Visits Your Sign Twice, and the Second Visit Holds the New Moon

The Moon touches Kanya twice this month. The first window runs from 1:12 am on Thursday 2 September to 3:16 am on Saturday 4 September — fifty hours four minutes. The second opens at 11:33 am on Wednesday 29 September and closes at 1:26 pm on Friday 1 October — forty-nine hours fifty-three minutes.

The New Moon falls twenty hours thirty-three minutes into that second window, which is what it means for a New Moon to form on your own sign: the Moon must be there, so the lunation and the Chandra window are the same event seen two ways. It arrives at 12°30′ of Virgo in Hasta pada 1, in your ruler’s nakshatra, at the instant Sharad Navratri begins.

The Full Moon, two weeks earlier, falls in your sixth house — at 4:33 am on Thursday 16 September, 28°36′ of Aquarius, in Purva Bhadrapada pada 3, with the Moon two hours forty minutes from leaving that sign. A sixth-house Full Moon brings a health matter, a dispute or a debt to full visibility, and it opens Pitru Paksha the day after the fortnight begins on the 15th. The two lunations bracket that fortnight exactly: fourteen days and three and a half hours from one to the other.

The Month’s Fixed Points

  • Wednesday 1 September — Mercury on your sign at 1°29′ of Uttara Phalguni, in its own sign and exalted; Saturn debilitated and retrograde in your eighth house, and retrograde every day this month.
  • Thursday 2 September, 1:12 am — the Moon arrives on Kanya Rashi for fifty hours four minutes, leaving at 3:16 am on Saturday the 4th.
  • Friday 3 September, 4:44 pm — Mars enters Swati in your second house. Hartalika Teej falls on Friday 3 September.
  • Saturday 4 September — Ganesh Chaturthi. That day’s panchang.
  • Monday 6 September, 12:12 pm — Mercury enters Hasta, its own nakshatra, exalted and on your own sign; Venus enters Uttara Phalguni at 10:07 pm.
  • Thursday 9 September, 2:36 pm — Venus arrives on Kanya Rashi, debilitated, and remains so for the rest of the month. Panchang for the day.
  • Tuesday 14 September, 3:56 am — the Sun enters Uttara Phalguni in your twelfth house. Anant Chaturdashi falls on Tuesday 14 September.
  • Wednesday 15 September — Guru asta ends: Jupiter becomes visible again in your twelfth house. Pitru Paksha begins on Wednesday 15 September.
  • Thursday 16 September, 3:40 am — Mercury enters Chitra on your sign, still exalted; the Full Moon forms in your sixth house at 4:33 am at 28°36′ of Aquarius, in Purva Bhadrapada pada 3, and the Moon leaves that sign at 7:13 am. Panchang for the day.
  • Friday 17 September, 2:04 pm — Kanya Sankranti: the Sun arrives on your own sign. Shukra asta ends the same day, so Venus becomes visible — debilitated, on your sign. Venus enters Hasta at 3:57 pm.
  • Tuesday 21 September, 6:15 pm — Mercury leaves your sign for your second house after twenty days and eighteen hours in its own sign and exaltation.
  • Thursday 23 September, 2:51 pm — Mars enters Vishakha in your second house.
  • Monday 27 September, 7:29 pm — the Sun enters Hasta on your sign.
  • Tuesday 28 September, 9:34 am — Venus enters Chitra on your sign; Mercury enters Swati at 5:22 pm in your second house.
  • Wednesday 29 September, 11:33 am — the Moon returns to Kanya Rashi for forty-nine hours fifty-three minutes.
  • Thursday 30 September, 8:06 am — the New Moon forms on your own sign at 12°30′ of Virgo, in Hasta pada 1, twenty hours thirty-three minutes into that window. Sarva Pitru Amavasya falls on Thursday 30 September. Sharad Navratri begins on Thursday 30 September. Panchang for the day.

Week by Week

Thirty days running Wednesday to Thursday. Five Wednesdays and five Thursdays; four each of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Mercury rules your sign and rules Wednesday, and it is on your sign in its own sign and exalted on the first three of the month’s five Wednesdays — the 1st, 8th and 15th.

1–7 September

The best week of the year for your ruler. Mercury is on your sign at full strength from the first day and enters its own nakshatra Hasta at 12:12 pm on Monday the 6th. The Moon is on Kanya from 1:12 am on Thursday the 2nd to 3:16 am on Saturday the 4th. Mars enters Swati in your second at 4:44 pm on Friday the 3rd. Hartalika Teej falls on Friday 3 September. Ganesh Chaturthi falls on Saturday 4 September. Begin the thing that needs precision.

8–14 September

Venus arrives on your sign debilitated at 2:36 pm on Thursday the 9th. The Sun enters Uttara Phalguni at 3:56 am on Tuesday the 14th. Anant Chaturdashi falls on Tuesday 14 September. Your ruler is still at full strength, so the work goes well; the caution is entirely about spending and about being harder on yourself than the situation warrants.

15–21 September

The month’s densest week. Jupiter becomes visible in your twelfth house on Wednesday the 15th; Mercury enters Chitra at 3:40 am on Thursday the 16th and the Full Moon forms in your sixth house at 4:33 am the same morning; Kanya Sankranti brings the Sun onto your own sign at 2:04 pm on Friday the 17th, the day Venus also becomes visible; and at 6:15 pm on Tuesday the 21st your ruler leaves the sign and the exaltation ends. Pitru Paksha begins on Wednesday 15 September. Close out anything that needs an exalted Mercury before Tuesday evening.

22–28 September

Mercury and Mars are together in your second house now — blunt, useful, good for money and bad for tact. Mars enters Vishakha at 2:51 pm on Thursday the 23rd; the Sun enters Hasta at 7:29 pm on Monday the 27th; Venus enters Chitra at 9:34 am and Mercury enters Swati at 5:22 pm on Tuesday the 28th. A good week to ask for what you are owed and a poor one for delicate conversations.

29–30 September

The Moon returns to your sign at 11:33 am on Wednesday the 29th, and the New Moon forms on it at 8:06 am on Thursday the 30th at 12°30′ of Virgo, in Hasta pada 1 — the same instant that closes Pitru Paksha and opens Sharad Navratri. Sarva Pitru Amavasya falls on Thursday 30 September. A first-house New Moon in your ruler’s own nakshatra is the best beginning available to you all year; start something on that day even if it is small.

Career and Money for Kanya Rashi

Career has no planet standing in it. Gemini is your tenth house and it is empty all month — but its lord is Mercury, and Mercury is on your own sign in its own sign and exalted for the first twenty days. That is the configuration in which your work speaks for you without your having to campaign. Put the proposal, the report and the interview before 21 September. See our career remedies page.

Money is mixed and the mixture is legible. Your second house holds Mars all month, joined by Mercury from the 21st: energetic, direct, good for collection and negotiation. But the second house’s lord is Venus, and Venus is debilitated on your sign from the 9th — so income arrives while judgment about spending it is poor. The instruction follows: earn in September, buy in October.

The eighth house is the one to watch. Ashtama Shani for all thirty days, retrograde, means joint accounts, tax, insurance and anything held in someone else’s name will move slowly and may need to be revisited. Use the exalted Mercury on that paperwork specifically — it is the best month you will have for reading the fine print. See our financial remedies page.

Home, Family and Partnership

Partnership is quiet in placement and busy in reflection. Pisces is your seventh house and empty all month; its lord is Jupiter, sitting in your twelfth and becoming visible on 15 September. So the second half of the month is easier for a partner than the first, and what changes is willingness rather than circumstance. Chaturmas runs through September, so the wedding calendar stays shut until Devuthani Ekadashi in November. See the marriage muhurat page for September 2027 and our marriage delay page.

Home is untenanted — Sagittarius, your fourth house, holds nothing this month — which for Kanya usually means the household runs on your own arrangements without interference. Jupiter in the twelfth is the classical signature for spending on things that leave no trace, so watch the household budget rather than the household. The griha pravesh page for September 2027 and the business and property page list the formal dates.

Rahu is in your fifth house of children and creativity all month and Ketu in your eleventh — an axis that inflates what you want from a child or a creative project while thinning your interest in the wider circle. It is a month for one thing done properly rather than many people pleased.

Health

Two transits govern health for Kanya this month, and they point the same way. Ashtama Shani — a debilitated retrograde Saturn in your eighth house for all thirty days — is the classical signature for chronic, low-grade complaints and for procedures that get postponed. And the Full Moon of 4:33 am on Thursday 16 September falls in your sixth house, the house of illness, which is where a symptom you have been ignoring becomes impossible to ignore.

Taken together, that is a clear instruction rather than a warning: get the thing looked at in the middle of the month, while your ruler is still exalted and can hold the details of a diagnosis. Virgo’s standing weak points are the digestion and the nervous system, and a debilitated Venus on the rashi from the 9th adds sugar and appetite. Your best Chandra window is the first one, 1:12 am on 2 September to 3:16 am on 4 September, fifty hours four minutes; brahma muhurta on the 2nd and 3rd are its two best mornings.

Remedies for Kanya Rashi in September 2027

Four conditions define the month: your ruler on your own sign, in its own sign and exalted, until 6:15 pm on 21 September; a debilitated Venus arriving on that same sign on the 9th; Ashtama Shani continuing all thirty days, debilitated and retrograde; and a New Moon on your sign in Hasta on the 30th — in a month with no exact conjunctions at all.

  • Use 6 to 16 September for anything that needs precision: exalted, in its own sign, on your rashi, in its own nakshatra Hasta. Contracts, audits, medical detail, difficult letters. This is the most useful line on this page.
  • Budh practice on the five Wednesdays — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 September: your ruler is on your sign and exalted on the first three, in your second house on the last two. Green moong, green cloth, Ganesha, and something written by hand. See Budh remedies and Wednesday observance.
  • Earn in September, buy in October: Venus is debilitated on your sign from the 9th to the end of the month and rules your second house. Income is fine; judgment about spending is not.
  • Shani observance on the four Saturdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 September: Ashtama Shani is the transit that most repays regular, unglamorous observance. Sesame oil, black til, mustard oil to a peepal after sundown, and service to someone older. See Shani remedies, Saturday fasting and the Shani dosh page.
  • Get the health matter examined around the 16th: a Full Moon in the sixth house with an exalted ruler still in place is the best combination this month for turning a vague symptom into a clear answer.
  • Shukra practice on the four Fridays — 3, 10, 17 and 24 September: Venus is combust on the 3rd and 10th, becomes visible on the 17th, and is debilitated on your sign from the 9th onward. White flowers, ghee, rice, and something given rather than bought. See Shukra remedies and Friday fasting.
  • Begin something on the 30th: a New Moon on your own sign at 12°30′ of Virgo, in Hasta pada 1, at the instant Navratri opens. Tarpan through Pitru Paksha from the 15th to that morning is the traditional preparation. See our pitra dosh page.

In Summary

For Kanya Rashi, September 2027 is the month the sky spends on your sign. Mercury — the one planet whose own sign and exaltation sign coincide — stands on Kanya in both conditions at once from the first day until 6:15 pm on Tuesday 21 September, twenty days and eighteen hours, entering its own nakshatra Hasta at 12:12 pm on 6 September. Kanya Sankranti brings the Sun onto the same sign at 2:04 pm on Friday 17 September. And the New Moon forms there at 8:06 am on Thursday 30 September, at 12°30′ in Hasta pada 1, at the instant Sharad Navratri begins.

Two things weigh against it, and both are honest rather than alarming. Venus arrives on your sign debilitated at 2:36 pm on Thursday 9 September and stays weak all month, becoming visible on the 17th without becoming strong — so spending and self-regard both need watching. And Saturn holds your eighth house for all thirty days as Ashtama Shani, debilitated and retrograde, losing one degree forty-three minutes: chronic rather than acute, revisited rather than new.

The Full Moon of 4:33 am on Thursday 16 September falls in your sixth house and the fortnight of Pitru Paksha runs from the 15th to the New Moon on the 30th — fourteen days and three and a half hours between the two lunations. The sky holds no exact conjunctions at all this month, after eight in August. All of this is sign-level. Which of the nine Kanya padas holds your natal Moon, where Mercury and Saturn sit in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it reaches you. For more, read August’s reading, what Kanya Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our page on Mercury in Vedic astrology.

A ruler at full strength, and Ashtama Shani in the eighth

Whether twenty days of an exalted ruler outweighs a debilitated Saturn in the eighth house depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon, where Mercury and Saturn sit in your own chart, and which dasha is running — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
