Virgo Rashifal August 2027 (Kanya Rashi): Your Ruler Comes Home Exalted With One Day Left, and Saturn Sits in Your Eighth

Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji

August 2027 saves the best thing it has for Kanya Rashi until the very end. Mercury, your ruler, re-enters Virgo at 1:57 am on Tuesday 31 August — and Virgo is the one sign where Mercury is both exalted and in its own house at the same time. Your lord arrives home at full strength with a single day of the month left to run.

Everything before that is harder. Saturn is debilitated in Aries, your eighth house, for all thirty-one days, and it turns retrograde at 11:04 pm on Monday 9 August. Saturn transiting the eighth from the janma rashi is Ashtama Shani, and Kanya Rashi is the sign it applies to in 2027. It is debilitated there and moving backwards.

And Mars is on your rashi for the first twenty-three days, leaving at 9:42 am on Tuesday 24 August. Meanwhile six of the month’s eight exact conjunctions happen in Cancer, your eleventh house of gains, between the 4th and the 12th — August 2027 has eight in total against July’s one — and from the 17th four planets stand in your twelfth house of expense.

Mercury Exalted on Your Own Sign, at 1:57 in the Morning

Mercury covers more ground in August 2027 than any other body: fifty-nine degrees in thirty-one days, from 2°24′ of Cancer to 1°29′ of Virgo, crossing five nakshatras and two sign boundaries. It leaves your eleventh house for your twelfth at 11:50 am on Saturday 14 August, and returns to your rashi at 1:57 am on Tuesday 31 August.

The technical point is worth stating because it is rarer than exaltation alone. Mercury owns Gemini and Virgo, and its exaltation sign is Virgo — so a Mercury in Virgo is simultaneously swakshetra and uchcha. For Kanya Rashi that means the lord of your first house arriving in your first house at maximum dignity. There is no stronger placement your ruler can take, and it lands with one day to spare.

Practically, that makes the 31st a threshold rather than a payoff. Nothing has time to mature in twenty-two hours. What it does is set September up: contracts, writing, analysis, negotiation, teaching, anything that depends on precision of language becomes markedly easier from that morning onward. Prepare through August, act from the 31st. See our Budh remedies page.

There is one small unkindness in the calendar. Mercury rules Wednesday, and August 2027 has only four — the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th, the fewest of any weekday alongside Thursday, Friday and Saturday. And on none of those four is Mercury exalted; it reaches Virgo six days after the last of them. See our page on Wednesday observance.

Ashtama Shani: Saturn Debilitated and Retrograde in Your Eighth

Saturn covers 3°34′ to 3°13′ of Ashwini in the whole of August — about a third of a degree, backwards, at roughly 0.035 degrees a day. It turns retrograde at 11:04 pm on Monday 9 August. We publish that station to the minute and give Saturn’s position only as a sign, and the reason is technical rather than cautious: a station is intrinsic to the geometry of the Earth and the planet, while a sign crossing at that speed depends on the ayanamsa you choose.

Ashtama Shani has a reputation, and most of it is overstated. What the eighth house actually governs is what you did not initiate: inheritance, joint finances, insurance, tax, surgery, the affairs of the dead, and things that surface without warning. A debilitated Saturn there, retrograde, reads as an old matter of exactly that kind coming back — a paper you thought was filed, a share of something that was never formally divided, a medical follow-up. It is administrative before it is dramatic.

The correct posture is documentary. Ashtama Shani punishes people who cannot produce the record and is close to harmless for people who can. Deal with the eighth-house category of thing in August — the tax notice, the nomination form, the pending medical test — rather than waiting for it to deal with you. See our Shani dosh page and Shani remedies.

Mars Leaves Your Sign Without Leaving Its Nakshatra

Mars begins August at 15°27′ of Virgo, on your rashi, and ends it at 4°54′ of Libra: nineteen and a half degrees in thirty-one days. It enters Chitra at 8:23 pm on Friday 13 August while still on your sign, and it leaves Virgo for Libra at 9:42 am on Tuesday 24 August — still in Chitra.

That is a real and uncommon arrangement. Chitra runs from 23°20′ of Virgo to 6°40′ of Libra, straddling the sign boundary, so Mars changes rashi in the middle of a nakshatra and finishes the month in Chitra pada 4. A malefic crossing out of your first house into your second without any change in its nakshatra lord means the character of the transit does not change even though the house does — the same energy, redirected from your body and temper onto your money and speech.

For the first twenty-three days, Mars on the rashi is the reason you will feel driven and short-tempered in roughly equal measure. Kanya is a Mercury sign and Mars is not a comfortable guest in it: the mind moves faster than it should, and criticism — of yourself first — gets sharper. From the 24th it becomes pressure on expenditure and on how you speak about money. See our Mangal dosh page and Mangal remedies.

Six Conjunctions in Your House of Gains, Then Four Planets in Your House of Loss

Cancer is your eleventh house, and for the first fortnight it holds the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Ketu, with six exact conjunctions inside nine days. The Sun is exact with Ketu at 6:07 am on Wednesday 4 August at 17°13′; Venus with Ketu at 11:15 pm on Thursday 5 August; Mercury with Ketu at 3:16 am on Sunday 8 August; Mercury with Venus at 11:59 am on Wednesday 11 August; the Sun with Mercury at 4:32 pm the same day; and the Sun with Venus at 5:50 am on Thursday 12 August, the deepest point of Shukra asta. The first New Moon of the month forms in that house at 3:35 pm on Monday 2 August at 15°42′ of Cancer.

An eleventh house that busy is the month’s clearest opportunity: gains, networks, elder siblings, and the fulfilment of things asked for earlier. Ketu there complicates it in a specific way — what arrives tends not to be what you wanted, and the network delivers something adjacent to the request. Ask precisely in the first fortnight and you will be answered precisely.

Then it all moves into Leo, your twelfth house. Jupiter is there all month; Mercury arrives on the 14th, Venus at 9:29 am on Monday 16 August, and the Sun in its own sign at 2:07 pm on Tuesday 17 August — Simha Sankranti. Four planets in the house of expense, isolation and release from the 17th, two exact conjunctions there on the 20th and the 26th, and the second New Moon of August forming in it at 11:11 pm on Tuesday 31 August. Money leaves in the second half; the compensation is that a well-populated twelfth is the classical placement for genuine rest, retreat and spiritual practice.

The Full Moon in Your Fifth, With Rahu There

The Full Moon of 12:58 pm on Tuesday 17 August forms at the very end of Capricorn, in the closing minutes of Dhanishta pada 2 — your fifth house of children, learning and creative work, where Rahu sits all month, moving backwards from 17°23′ to 15°45′ of Shravana. On the 17th Rahu stands at roughly 16°30′, so the lunation is about thirteen and a half degrees away: the same house, not a conjunction.

The timing around it is the tightest of the month. The Moon leaves Capricorn at 1:04 pm, six minutes after the Full Moon, and Simha Sankranti follows at 2:07 pm — three events in sixty-nine minutes. Raksha Bandhan falls on Tuesday 17 August, and the Purnima tithi it needs ends at the Full Moon itself. With the nodal axis running through your fifth and eleventh houses all month, a Full Moon in the fifth is the annual point at which what you are making, or a child, or a course of study, becomes visible for what it is.

The Month’s Fixed Points

  • Sunday 1 August, 11:21 am — Mercury enters Pushya in your eleventh house.
  • Monday 2 August, 3:35 pm — the first New Moon forms in your eleventh house of gains at 15°42′ of Cancer, in Pushya pada 4. That day’s panchang.
  • Tuesday 3 August, 4:26 pm — the Sun enters Ashlesha.
  • Wednesday 4 August, 6:07 am — the Sun is exact with Ketu at 17°13′ in your eleventh house. Hariyali Teej falls on Wednesday 4 August.
  • Thursday 5 August, 2:49 pm — the Moon arrives on Kanya Rashi for fifty-one hours eighteen minutes. Venus is exact with Ketu at 11:15 pm, eight hours twenty-six minutes into that window.
  • Friday 6 August — Nag Panchami.
  • Saturday 7 August, 6:07 pm — the Moon leaves Virgo. Mercury enters Ashlesha at 11:21 pm.
  • Sunday 8 August, 3:16 am — Mercury is exact with Ketu at 17°01′ in your eleventh house.
  • Monday 9 August, 11:04 pm — Saturn turns retrograde in your eighth house, debilitated: the Ashtama Shani station. Panchang for the day.
  • Wednesday 11 August, 11:59 am and 4:32 pm — Mercury exact with Venus at 23°57′, then the Sun exact with Mercury at 24°20′, both in your eleventh house.
  • Thursday 12 August, 5:50 am — the Sun is exact with Venus at 24°52′: the deepest point of Shukra asta.
  • Friday 13 August, 8:23 pm — Mars enters Chitra while still on your rashi.
  • Saturday 14 August, 11:50 am — Mercury leaves your eleventh house for your twelfth and enters Magha at the same instant. Ketu reverses into Pushya the same day, which we give as a day and not a minute: at 0.053 degrees a day, a printed time would be false precision.
  • Monday 16 August, 9:29 am — Venus moves into your twelfth house and enters Magha. Guru asta begins: Jupiter is combust there to 15 September.
  • Tuesday 17 August, 12:58 pm — the Full Moon forms in your fifth house at the end of Capricorn, in Dhanishta pada 2, about thirteen and a half degrees from Rahu. The Moon leaves Capricorn at 1:04 pm.
  • Tuesday 17 August, 2:07 pm — Simha Sankranti: the Sun enters Leo, its own sign, filling your twelfth house to four planets. Raksha Bandhan falls on Tuesday 17 August. Panchang for the day.
  • Friday 20 August, 4:16 am — Mercury is exact with Jupiter at 10°59′ of Leo, in your twelfth house.
  • Saturday 21 August, 10:40 am — Mercury enters Purva Phalguni.
  • Tuesday 24 August, 9:42 am — Mars leaves your rashi for your second house, without leaving Chitra. Krishna Janmashtami falls on Tuesday 24 August.
  • Thursday 26 August, 8:29 am — Venus is exact with Jupiter at 12°19′ of Leo in your twelfth house, with both combust.
  • Friday 27 August, 4:03 am — Venus enters Purva Phalguni.
  • Sunday 29 August, 1:19 am — Mercury enters Uttara Phalguni, its last nakshatra before your sign.
  • Tuesday 31 August, 1:57 am — Mercury enters Virgo, exalted and in its own sign, on your rashi. The Sun enters Purva Phalguni at 10:05 am, Jupiter reaches the same nakshatra in the last hours of the month, and the second New Moon forms in your twelfth house at 11:11 pm. Panchang for the day.

Week by Week

Thirty-one days running Sunday to Tuesday. Five Sundays, five Mondays and five Tuesdays; only four each of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Mercury rules Wednesday, so your own weekday is one of the four short ones, and none of the four falls after your ruler reaches exaltation.

1–7 August

The best week for asking. The first New Moon forms in your eleventh house of gains at 3:35 pm on Monday the 2nd, and the Sun crosses Ketu there at 6:07 am on Wednesday the 4th. The Moon arrives on Kanya Rashi at 2:49 pm on Thursday the 5th and stays fifty-one hours eighteen minutes, with Venus exact with Ketu eight hours twenty-six minutes in. Hariyali Teej falls on Wednesday 4 August. Nag Panchami falls on Friday 6 August. Make requests, apply, introduce yourself — and be exact about what you are asking for.

8–14 August

The month’s hardest week. Mercury crosses Ketu at 3:16 am on Sunday the 8th, and Saturn turns retrograde in your eighth house at 11:04 pm on Monday the 9th — the Ashtama Shani station, and the point at which old joint-finance or medical matters tend to resurface. Wednesday the 11th carries two exact conjunctions five hours apart, and Thursday the 12th the deepest. Mars enters Chitra on your rashi at 8:23 pm on Friday the 13th, and Mercury moves into your twelfth house at 11:50 am on Saturday the 14th. Handle paperwork this week; start nothing.

15–21 August

The week the account starts draining and the fifth house lights up. Venus moves into your twelfth at 9:29 am on Monday the 16th and Guru asta begins. Tuesday the 17th holds three events in sixty-nine minutes: the Full Moon in your fifth house at 12:58 pm, the Moon out of Capricorn at 1:04 pm, and Simha Sankranti at 2:07 pm, which brings your twelfth house to four planets. Raksha Bandhan falls on Tuesday 17 August. Mercury is exact with Jupiter in the twelfth at 4:16 am on Friday the 20th. Good week for creative work, poor week for spending.

22–28 August

Relief on the rashi. Mars leaves your sign at 9:42 am on Tuesday the 24th, which is Krishna Janmashtami, taking twenty-three days of friction off your first house and putting it onto your money and speech instead. Venus is exact with Jupiter in your twelfth at 8:29 am on Thursday the 26th, both combust, and enters Purva Phalguni at 4:03 am on Friday the 27th. The temper settles; the wallet does not.

29–31 August

The turn. Mercury enters Uttara Phalguni at 1:19 am on Sunday the 29th, its last nakshatra before your sign, and reaches Virgo at 1:57 am on Tuesday the 31st — exalted, in its own house, on your rashi. The Sun enters Purva Phalguni at 10:05 am, Jupiter reaches Purva Phalguni in the last hours of the month, and the second New Moon of August forms in your twelfth house at 11:11 pm. Two things happen the same day: your ruler comes home at full strength, and a lunation forms in your house of expense. Both are true, and the first outlasts the second.

Career and Money for Kanya Rashi

Your tenth house of career is Gemini, empty all month and ruled by Mercury — which spends August in your eleventh, then your twelfth, and only reaches your rashi in the last twenty-two hours. So career this month is not driven by the tenth house. It is driven by the eleventh: six exact conjunctions in the house of gains between the 4th and the 12th, with the first New Moon of the month there on the 2nd. Whatever advances professionally in August will come through a network, a referral, or an older sibling rather than through the workplace hierarchy.

Money divides at the 17th. Before it, the eleventh house is doing the work. After it, four planets sit in your twelfth house of expense, two exact conjunctions occur there, and the second New Moon of the month forms in it on the 31st. Expect the second half to cost more than you planned, and note that the twelfth house of a Kanya chart is Leo — expenditure on status, on children, on things that are seen. Read our financial remedies page.

Two structural warnings. Mars crosses into your second house of wealth on the 24th and stays there past month’s end, which is friction on cash flow and on how you talk about money. And Saturn retrograde in your eighth for the whole month means joint finances, tax and anything inherited will be slower and more paper-heavy than expected. Neither is a loss; both are delay.

Home, Family and Partnership

Your seventh house is Pisces, empty for the whole month, ruled by a Jupiter that sits combust in your twelfth from the 16th. That is a quiet, slightly absent month for partnership — the lord of the seventh is present in your chart but invisible, which reads as a partner who is preoccupied rather than distant. Mars on your rashi for twenty-three days does not help: a first-house Mars makes you the sharper voice in the room whether you intend it or not.

The wedding calendar is closed on three independent grounds: Chaturmas runs across all thirty-one days, Venus is combust from 6 July to 17 September, and Jupiter is combust from the 16th to 15 September. The marriage muhurat page for August 2027 sets out why no date qualifies. For Kanya specifically, with the seventh lord combust in the twelfth, this is a month to repair a relationship rather than formalise one.

Home is unremarkable and that is welcome. Your fourth house is Sagittarius, empty, ruled by Jupiter. The Full Moon in your fifth on the 17th is the family event of the month if there is one — children, a performance, an examination result. The griha pravesh page for August 2027 and the child samskaras page explain why formal ceremonies still wait.

Health

Two signals, and they point the same way. Mars is on your rashi for twenty-three days, which in a Kanya chart typically means inflammation, acidity and a shortened fuse; and Saturn is debilitated and retrograde in your eighth house, which is the house of surgery and chronic conditions. Neither predicts illness. Together they say: if something has been pending — a test, a follow-up, a procedure you deferred — August is when it will ask to be dealt with, and dealing with it deliberately is far better than being surprised by it.

The one clean window is the Moon on Kanya Rashi from 2:49 pm on 5 August to 6:07 pm on 7 August — fifty-one hours eighteen minutes, with the Venus–Ketu conjunction eight hours twenty-six minutes in. Brahma muhurta on the 6th and on the 7th, with the Moon on your own sign, are the two strongest mornings of the month for anything restorative. After Mars leaves on the 24th the body settles noticeably.

Remedies for Kanya Rashi in August 2027

Four conditions define the month: Mercury returning exalted and in its own sign to your rashi at 1:57 am on the 31st; a debilitated Saturn turning retrograde in your eighth house at 11:04 pm on the 9th; Mars on your rashi for the first twenty-three days; and six of the month’s eight exact conjunctions in your eleventh house between the 4th and the 12th, with four planets moving into your twelfth from the 17th.

  • Budh practice on the four Wednesdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 August: your ruler is the whole point of this month, and it spends most of it away from your sign. Green moong, green cloth, something written by hand, and no careless speech. See Budh remedies and Wednesday observance.
  • Shani observance on the Saturdays — 7, 14, 21 and 28 August: this is Ashtama Shani, debilitated and retrograde. Sesame oil, black til, mustard oil to a peepal after sundown, and service to someone older than you. See Shani remedies, Saturday fasting and the Shani dosh page.
  • Clear one eighth-house document this month: the single most effective response to a retrograde Saturn in the eighth is paperwork — a nomination, a will, a tax filing, an insurance renewal, a deferred medical test. Choose one and finish it.
  • Mangal restraint until the 24th: Mars on the rashi in a Mercury sign sharpens criticism before it sharpens anything useful. Hanuman Chalisa on the Tuesdays — 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 August — and see Tuesday fasting and our Mangal dosh page.
  • Ask precisely between the 2nd and the 12th: six exact conjunctions in your eleventh house with Ketu there means the network answers, but answers literally. Put requests in writing.
  • Budget the second half: four planets in your twelfth from the 17th and a lunation there on the 31st is a spending pattern, not a loss. Decide in advance what the outflow is for.
  • Hold the 31st for beginnings: your ruler reaches its strongest possible placement at 1:57 am that morning. Anything that depends on precise language — a contract, a submission, an application — belongs to that day or to September, not to August.

In Summary

For Kanya Rashi, August 2027 is a month of endurance followed by a single decisive arrival. Saturn is debilitated in your eighth house for all thirty-one days and turns retrograde at 11:04 pm on Monday 9 August — Ashtama Shani, which surfaces old joint-finance, tax and medical matters and rewards documentation over pressure. Mars holds your rashi for the first twenty-three days, entering Chitra on the 13th and leaving Virgo at 9:42 am on 24 August without leaving that nakshatra, because Chitra straddles the sign boundary.

The houses divide at Simha Sankranti. Until 2:07 pm on 17 August your eleventh house of gains carries six of the month’s eight exact conjunctions and the first New Moon; from that afternoon your twelfth house of expense holds four planets, takes two more conjunctions, and receives the second New Moon at 11:11 pm on 31 August. The Full Moon of 12:58 pm on 17 August lands in your fifth house, about thirteen and a half degrees from Rahu, six minutes before the Moon changes sign.

And then, with one day left, Mercury enters Virgo at 1:57 am on Tuesday 31 August — exalted and in its own sign at the same time, which no other placement of your ruler can match. It is a threshold, not a payoff: it sets September up rather than rescuing August. All of the above is sign-level. Which of the nine Virgo padas holds your natal Moon, where Mercury sits in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it lands. For more, read July’s reading, what Kanya Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our Shani dosh page.

Ashtama Shani, and a ruler that comes home exalted

Whether Saturn in the eighth reads as paperwork or as something heavier depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon and where Saturn sits in your own chart — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
