Where the 6th and 11th Lordship Comes From

Venus owns Taurus and Libra. Counting from Sagittarius as the first house, Taurus is the 6th and Libra is the 11th — which is the whole of it. Two signs, two houses — the 6th and the 11th from Sagittarius — and the verdict on diamond turns on which of the two carries more weight.

Yellow Sapphire is the Sagittarius primary stone, because Jupiter rules Sagittarius (Dhanu) and owns the 1st and the 4th from it. So the pairing a Sagittarius native is most likely to consider is diamond with yellow sapphire, and whether that is allowed depends on how Venus and Jupiter rate each other.

Jupiter counts Venus an enemy while Venus rates Jupiter neutral. Parashari friendship is not symmetric — eleven of the twenty-one graha pairs rate each other differently in the two directions, and seven of those eleven are a one-sided enmity exactly like this one. Tradition does not split the difference: one-way enmity is enough to rule the combination out, so a Sagittarius native should not wear diamond and yellow sapphire together.

In practice the ascendant's lordship is what a reading weighs first, and a birth under Purva Ashadha is the one circumstance in which a Sagittarius native might be pointed at diamond anyway.

What a Sagittarius Ascendant Should Wear Instead

If the appeal is diamond itself rather than Venus, its upratna is opal — a substitute of the same graha with a far milder effect, which is the usual compromise where the primary stone is contraindicated.

The Ascendants Diamond Reads Differently For

The same stone is not the same advice from every ascendant, and diamond is a clear example. From Sagittarius it does not help.
