Where the 2nd and 9th Lordship Comes From

Venus owns Taurus and Libra. Counting from Virgo as the first house, Taurus is the 9th and Libra is the 2nd — which is the whole of it. Two signs, two houses — the 2nd and the 9th from Virgo — and the verdict on diamond turns on which of the two carries more weight.

Trikona lordship — the 1st, 5th and 9th — is what makes a graha a functional benefic for an ascendant, whatever its natural character. Emerald is the Virgo primary stone, because Mercury rules Virgo (Kanya) and owns the 1st and the 10th from it. So the pairing a Virgo native is most likely to consider is diamond with emerald, and whether that is allowed depends on how Venus and Mercury rate each other.

Venus rates Mercury a friend, and Mercury rates Venus a friend. No enmity in either direction, so the combination is permitted — and mutual friendship is the strongest footing a pairing can have.

On diamond generally: Lab-grown diamonds are chemically identical but tradition holds that only natural stones transmit the graha, so they are not used.

Venus in Virgo Itself

House lordship is one axis and sign dignity is another, and for a Virgo ascendant they do not always agree. Virgo is where Venus is debilitated. That is the awkward fact about this combination: the graha whose stone is under discussion sits in its weakest sign for exactly this ascendant. Where the 2nd and the 9th argue for diamond, the debilitation argues against, and no table resolves that — a chart does.

How to Wear It as a Virgo Ascendant

1. Fix the weight first — roughly one ratti per ten kilograms of body weight, three to five ratti as a practical minimum. Confirm whether the quote is in the 0.9-carat ratti or the traditional 0.12-gram one.
2. Judge the stone before the setting. For a diamond, insist on a GIA or IGI certificate — for astrological use clarity matters more than carat, and a black inclusion visible to the eye is traditionally rejected outright. White sapphire is the honest choice at a fraction of the cost and carries the same graha. Colour to expect: colourless to faint tint; white sapphire is the near-colourless corundum substitute.
3. Set it in platinum / white gold with the back left open so the stone rests on skin, and wear it on the middle finger of the right hand. These follow Venus, not Virgo, so they differ from what the Virgo primary stone asks for.
4. Wash the ring in raw milk, honey, ghee, curd and clean water, place it before Lakshmi, and chant ॐ द्रां द्रीं द्रौं सः शुक्राय नमः — Om Draam Dreem Draum Sah Shukraya Namah — 16,000 times, or have the japa performed for you.
5. Put it on for the first time on Friday morning, and fast on Friday to support the same graha.
6. You may keep emerald, the Virgo primary stone, on at the same time, since Venus and Mercury carry no enmity either way. Observe the first thirty days and remove it if anything worsens sharply.

The Ascendants Diamond Reads Differently For

The same stone is not the same advice from every ascendant, and diamond is a clear example. From Virgo it helps.
