Shani Ki Drishti: Saturn’s 3rd, 7th and 10th House Aspects

Three. The site’s planet table gives Saturn’s aspects as the 3rd, 7th and 10th houses, and adds that Saturn alone among the grahas aspects the 3rd and the 10th. The 7th is the one aspect all seven grahas from the Sun to Saturn hold in common in the Parashari scheme; the other two belong to Saturn. Drishti is the Sanskrit for sight or glance, and the word is the tradition’s name for this relation between a graha and a sign some distance from it.

The counting is inclusive: Saturn’s own sign is the 1st. With Saturn in Pisces, the 3rd sign is Taurus, the 7th Virgo and the 10th Sagittarius. Because this site uses whole-sign houses, the sign and the house are the same thing, so an aspect onto a sign is an aspect onto the house that sign occupies in a chart. Some methods go further and weigh each aspect by the exact distance in degrees; this page counts signs only, which is all the site’s tables support.

The same three steps applied from each of the twelve houses give the table below. The last column marks the aspected houses that the house table classes as upachaya, the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th; the planet table’s note on Saturn’s best houses names that group, which is why it is the lens used here rather than any other.

Two rows stand apart. From the 9th, all three aspects reach upachaya houses, the 11th, 3rd and 6th. From the 3rd, 7th, 10th or 11th, none do. From the lagna itself the two aspects special to Saturn land on the 3rd and 10th, both upachaya, with the shared 7th falling on a kendra. That is a statement about which houses the counting reaches; what an astrologer then reads from it depends on the signs, lords and dashas of a given chart.

Saturn Aspects Which Houses From Itself, Sign by Sign, 2026-2028

In the sky the question becomes which signs. Saturn holds only two signs across the site’s three-year ingress table, alternating between them because of the retrograde return to Pisces on 20 October 2027. Days only are given; Saturn moves too slowly for a published minute to mean anything.

Days Each Moon Sign or Lagna Receives Saturn’s Aspect

Turning the table around: for each sign, how many of the 1096 days from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028 does a Saturn aspect fall on it, and by which number? The arithmetic is the same whether the sign is read as your Moon sign or as your lagna; the Moon sign calculator and the ascendant calculator give each one.

Only six signs receive the aspect at all in these three years, and each of them by a single number, since Saturn never leaves its pair of signs. Taurus, Virgo and Sagittarius receive it on 645 days each, from Saturn in Pisces; Gemini, Libra and Capricorn on 451, from Saturn in Aries. Aries and Pisces hold Saturn itself rather than its aspect. That leaves Cancer, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, which neither hold Saturn nor receive its aspect at any point in the table.

The transiting Moon crosses every sign each month, so the question of Saturn’s aspect on the Moon is a question of hours, not of the day counts above. Cutting Saturn’s sign against Jupiter’s and the nodes’ gives 5 dated stretches in the table in which one of them sits in a sign Saturn aspects. Rows marked * involve Rahu or Ketu, whose table rows are mean-node positions; their days are soft by up to a day.

Saturn’s aspect reaches Jupiter only by the 7th, first from 26 November 2027 to 23 February 2028, with Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter opposite in Virgo, about 89 days, and again from 26 December 2028 as the table closes. Since Jupiter’s own set also includes the 7th, both of those stretches are mutual aspect, the same days in both directions; the Jupiter aspect page sets them beside Jupiter’s much longer reach onto Saturn. Rahu receives Saturn’s 10th twice while Saturn is in Aries and Rahu in Capricorn, about 260 days in all, and Ketu receives the 3rd from 24 June 2028.

What This Page Does Not Do

Everything above is counting: which signs and houses Saturn’s aspect reaches, on which days, and how the texts label the aspect and the houses. None of it is a reading. The planet table classes Saturn as malefic, and practitioners who read drishti weigh that alongside the sign, the lordships and the running dasha before saying anything about a chart; this page does none of that weighing, and draws no result for anyone from an aspect falling on their Moon sign or lagna. It also gives no Sade Sati count.
