Cancer Rashifal August 2027 (Karka Rashi): The New Moon Forms on Your Own Sign, and Six Conjunctions Happen There

Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji

August 2027 opens on your sign. The New Moon forms at 3:35 pm on Monday 2 August at 15°42′ of Cancer, in Pushya pada 4 — on Karka Rashi itself, not merely in one of your houses. The Sun, Mercury and Venus are all on your sign with it, and Ketu is there for all thirty-one days.

The consequence is unusual and worth stating precisely. August 2027 has eight exact conjunctions — July 2027 had one — and six of the eight happen on Karka Rashi, inside nine days. No other sign in the zodiac gets that this month, and it is the kind of concentration that does not repeat for years.

Then it moves off you and into your money. Mercury crosses into Leo at 11:50 am on Saturday 14 August, Venus at 9:29 am on Monday 16 August, and the Sun at 2:07 pm on Tuesday 17 August — Simha Sankranti. Leo is your second house of income, and the Sun owns it, so from the 17th the lord of your second house sits in your second house in its own sign, alongside Jupiter, Mercury and Venus. Four planets in the house of income, and the month’s second New Moon forms there on the 31st.

Six Exact Conjunctions on Your Own Sign

Ketu holds Cancer for the whole month, moving backwards from 17°23′ to 15°45′, and the three fast planets pass over it in turn. The Sun is exact with Ketu at 6:07 am on Wednesday 4 August at 17°13′. Venus is exact with Ketu at 11:15 pm on Thursday 5 August at 17°07′. Mercury is exact with Ketu at 3:16 am on Sunday 8 August at 17°01′. All three inside Ashlesha pada 1.

Then the three of them meet each other, further along your sign. Mercury is exact with Venus at 11:59 am on Wednesday 11 August at 23°57′, in Ashlesha pada 3. The Sun is exact with Mercury at 4:32 pm the same day at 24°20′. And the Sun is exact with Venus at 5:50 am on Thursday 12 August at 24°52′ — which is also the deepest point of Shukra asta, the Venus combustion that runs from 6 July to 17 September.

What does a first house this crowded actually do? The honest answer is that it makes you visible and it does not make you comfortable. Three planets on the rashi with Ketu is the classical picture of being noticed for something you were not trying to display. Ketu in the first is detachment from your own image — the sense of watching yourself from outside — and planets crossing it sharpen that rather than soften it. The New Moon on the rashi on the 2nd is a genuine annual reset, the one point in the year when your own sign starts a fresh lunar cycle from zero. Use it for that and let the rest pass.

The Shortest Chandra Window of the Month, and a Second One

The Moon is on Karka Rashi from 2:47 pm on Sunday 1 August to 2:16 pm on Tuesday 3 August — forty-seven hours twenty-nine minutes. That is the shortest stay any sign gets in August 2027, because the Moon is near perigee and moving at its fastest. The New Moon forms twenty-four hours forty-eight minutes into it, almost exactly at its midpoint.

The compensation is that you get a second one. The Moon returns to Cancer at 12:53 am on Sunday 29 August and stays until 1:02 am on Tuesday 31 August — forty-eight hours nine minutes. Only Karka and Simha get two Chandra windows in August 2027, because a thirty-one-day month is longer than the Moon’s sidereal circuit by about a day and a half, and the extra day and a half lands on your sign. The second window closes fifty-five minutes before Mercury reaches exaltation.

August also hands you five Mondays — the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. The Moon rules Karka, so those are your days, and the first of them carries the New Moon on your own sign. For a Moon-ruled sign in a month that begins with a lunation on the rashi, that is the most useful weekday distribution the calendar could have produced. See our page on Monday fasting and on strengthening a weak Moon.

Your Second House Fills, With Its Own Lord in It

Jupiter is in Leo for all thirty-one days, running 6°54′ to 13°33′ through Magha into Purva Phalguni. Mercury joins it on the 14th, Venus on the 16th, and the Sun on the 17th at Simha Sankranti. From that afternoon your second house of income, speech and family wealth holds four planets, and one of them is the lord of that house sitting in its own sign.

Two exact conjunctions follow there: Mercury with Jupiter at 4:16 am on Friday 20 August at 10°59′ of Leo, and Venus with Jupiter at 8:29 am on Thursday 26 August at 12°19′. And the second New Moon of August forms in that house at 11:11 pm on Tuesday 31 August, at 13°54′ of Leo in Purva Phalguni pada 1. Two New Moons in one calendar month is uncommon; for Karka they land on the rashi and in the house of income, which is as good a pair of positions as the month could have chosen.

The limit is combustion. Venus is combust for all thirty-one days, and Jupiter goes combust from 16 August to 15 September. So two of the four planets in your income house are invisible, and the Venus–Jupiter conjunction on the 26th is between two combust bodies. Read the second house as strong in structure and slow in delivery: the arrangement improves, the money follows later. See our financial remedies page.

The Full Moon in Your Seventh House, and Saturn in Your Tenth

The Full Moon of 12:58 pm on Tuesday 17 August forms at the very end of Capricorn, in the closing minutes of Dhanishta pada 2 — your seventh house of partnership, directly opposite your rashi. That is the annual point at which the relationship is shown to you at full illumination. The timing is tight: the Moon leaves Capricorn at 1:04 pm, six minutes after the lunation, and Simha Sankranti follows at 2:07 pm — three events in sixty-nine minutes. Raksha Bandhan falls on Tuesday 17 August, and the Purnima tithi it needs ends at the Full Moon itself.

Rahu is in that seventh house all month, moving backwards from 17°23′ to 15°45′ in Shravana, and on the 17th it stands at roughly 16°30′. So the Full Moon is about thirteen and a half degrees from Rahu: the same house, not a conjunction. With Ketu on your rashi and Rahu opposite it, the nodal axis runs straight through your first and seventh houses for the whole month, which is the classical configuration for a year in which the balance between self and partner is the question. See our Rahu–Ketu remedies page and the Kaal Sarp page.

Saturn is debilitated in Aries in your tenth house of career for all thirty-one days, covering only 3°34′ to 3°13′ of Ashwini, and it turns retrograde at 11:04 pm on Monday 9 August. We publish that station to the minute and Saturn’s sign position only as a sign, and the reason is technical: a station is intrinsic to the geometry of the Earth and the planet and does not depend on the ayanamsa, while a crossing at 0.035 degrees a day does. Saturn is the natural significator of work, so a debilitated retrograde Saturn in the tenth is the month’s real professional drag — not failure, but everything taking longer than it should and needing to be done twice.

The Month’s Fixed Points

  • Sunday 1 August, 11:21 am — Mercury enters Pushya on your rashi. The Moon arrives on Karka Rashi at 2:47 pm.
  • Monday 2 August, 3:35 pm — the New Moon forms ON your sign at 15°42′ of Cancer, in Pushya pada 4, twenty-four hours forty-eight minutes into your Chandra window. The first of five Mondays. That day’s panchang.
  • Tuesday 3 August, 2:16 pm — the Moon leaves Cancer, closing the shortest window any sign gets this month. The Sun enters Ashlesha on your rashi at 4:26 pm.
  • Wednesday 4 August, 6:07 am — the Sun is exact with Ketu at 17°13′ on your own sign. Hariyali Teej falls on Wednesday 4 August.
  • Thursday 5 August, 2:24 pm — Venus enters Ashlesha, and is exact with Ketu at 11:15 pm the same day.
  • Friday 6 August — Nag Panchami.
  • Saturday 7 August, 11:21 pm — Mercury enters Ashlesha on your rashi.
  • Sunday 8 August, 3:16 am — Mercury is exact with Ketu at 17°01′ on your sign, the third of the three Ketu conjunctions.
  • Monday 9 August, 11:04 pm — Saturn turns retrograde in your tenth house, debilitated. Panchang for the day.
  • Wednesday 11 August, 11:59 am and 4:32 pm — Mercury exact with Venus at 23°57′, then the Sun exact with Mercury at 24°20′, both on Karka Rashi.
  • Thursday 12 August, 5:50 am — the Sun is exact with Venus at 24°52′ on your sign: the deepest point of Shukra asta.
  • Friday 13 August, 8:23 pm — Mars enters Chitra in your third house.
  • Saturday 14 August, 11:50 am — Mercury leaves your rashi for your second house and enters Magha at the same instant. Ketu reverses back into Pushya the same day, which we give as a day and not a minute: at 0.053 degrees a day, a printed time would be false precision.
  • Monday 16 August, 9:29 am — Venus leaves your rashi for your second house and enters Magha. Guru asta begins: Jupiter is combust in that house to 15 September.
  • Tuesday 17 August, 12:58 pm — the Full Moon forms in your seventh house at the end of Capricorn, in Dhanishta pada 2, about thirteen and a half degrees from Rahu. The Moon leaves Capricorn at 1:04 pm. Panchang for the day.

  • Saturday 21 August, 10:40 am — Mercury enters Purva Phalguni in your second house.
  • Tuesday 24 August, 9:42 am — Mars leaves your third house for your fourth. Krishna Janmashtami falls on Tuesday 24 August.
  • Thursday 26 August, 8:29 am — Venus is exact with Jupiter at 12°19′ of Leo, in your second house, with both combust.
  • Friday 27 August, 4:03 am — Venus enters Purva Phalguni in your second house.
  • Sunday 29 August, 12:53 am — the Moon returns to Karka Rashi for a second window of forty-eight hours nine minutes. Mercury enters Uttara Phalguni at 1:19 am.
  • Tuesday 31 August, 1:02 am — the Moon leaves Cancer. Mercury enters Virgo, exalted, in your third house at 1:57 am; the Sun enters Purva Phalguni at 10:05 am; and the second New Moon forms in your second house at 11:11 pm. Panchang for the day.

Week by Week

Thirty-one days running Sunday to Tuesday. Five Sundays, five Mondays and five Tuesdays; four each of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The five Mondays are yours, and the 2nd and the 30th bracket the month neatly — the first opens with a New Moon on your sign, the last sits a day before the second one.

1–7 August

Your week, and the most concentrated one of the year. The Moon arrives on Karka Rashi at 2:47 pm on Sunday the 1st, Mercury enters Pushya on your sign at 11:21 am the same day, and the New Moon forms on the rashi at 3:35 pm on Monday the 2nd. The Moon leaves at 2:16 pm on Tuesday the 3rd, and the Sun enters Ashlesha that afternoon. Wednesday the 4th brings the Sun exact with Ketu on your sign at 6:07 am, and Thursday the 5th brings Venus across the same point at 11:15 pm. Hariyali Teej falls on Wednesday 4 August. Nag Panchami falls on Friday 6 August. This is the annual reset. Start the year’s personal projects here.

8–14 August

The heaviest week. Mercury is exact with Ketu on your sign at 3:16 am on Sunday the 8th. Saturn turns retrograde in your tenth house at 11:04 pm on Monday the 9th. Wednesday the 11th carries two exact conjunctions on your rashi within five hours, and Thursday the 12th carries the third and deepest, the Sun with Venus at 5:50 am. Mars enters Chitra at 8:23 pm on Friday the 13th, and Mercury leaves your sign for your second house at 11:50 am on Saturday the 14th. Five of the month’s eight exact conjunctions fall in this week, all of them on you. Expect to feel conspicuous and tired.

15–21 August

The week your sign empties and your income house fills. Venus crosses over at 9:29 am on Monday the 16th, and Guru asta begins the same day. Tuesday the 17th holds three events in sixty-nine minutes: the Full Moon in your seventh house at 12:58 pm, the Moon out of Capricorn at 1:04 pm, and Simha Sankranti at 2:07 pm, which puts the lord of your second house into its own sign. Raksha Bandhan falls on Tuesday 17 August. A Full Moon opposite your rashi is the point in the year when the partnership speaks; listen rather than answer. Mercury is exact with Jupiter in your second house at 4:16 am on Friday the 20th.

22–28 August

The quietest week for you, and the most useful for the household. Mars leaves your third house for your fourth at 9:42 am on Tuesday the 24th, which is Krishna Janmashtami — a malefic entering the house of home is worth noting, because it tends to arrive as a repair or an argument about the house rather than as anything dramatic. Venus is exact with Jupiter in your second house at 8:29 am on Thursday the 26th, both combust, and enters Purva Phalguni at 4:03 am on Friday the 27th.

29–31 August

Your second window. The Moon returns to Karka Rashi at 12:53 am on Sunday the 29th, Mercury enters Uttara Phalguni twenty-six minutes later, and the Moon stays until 1:02 am on Tuesday the 31st — forty-eight hours nine minutes. Fifty-five minutes after it leaves, Mercury reaches Virgo and exaltation at 1:57 am. The Sun enters Purva Phalguni at 10:05 am, Jupiter reaches Purva Phalguni in the last hours of the month, and the second New Moon forms in your second house at 11:11 pm. The 29th to the 31st is the best short stretch August gives you after the opening week.

Career and Money for Karka Rashi

Career is the month’s weak point and it is worth being direct about it. Saturn is the natural significator of work and it sits debilitated in your tenth house for all thirty-one days, turning retrograde on the 9th. Expect processes to stall, approvals to be revisited, and work you thought was finished to come back. The correct response is documentation rather than pressure: a retrograde Saturn in the tenth punishes improvisation and rewards a paper trail. Read our career remedies page and Shani dosh page.

Money is the opposite. Your second house of income gains four planets by the 17th, including its own lord in its own sign, takes two exact conjunctions on the 20th and the 26th, and receives the second New Moon of the month on the 31st. That is the strongest second-house month Karka has had in some time. The qualifier, again, is combustion: Venus all month and Jupiter from the 16th. So the structure improves before the balance does. The New Moon of the 31st is the date to start the new arrangement, not the 2nd.

Your eleventh house of gains is Taurus, empty, ruled by combust Venus, and your sixth house of debt is Sagittarius, also empty, ruled by Jupiter, combust from the 16th. Neither is doing much. Practically, that means August favours income from your own work and disfavours anything that depends on a network, an intermediary, or a settlement.

Home, Family and Partnership

Partnership carries the month’s clearest single event. The Full Moon of 12:58 pm on 17 August forms in your seventh house, directly opposite your rashi, with Rahu in the same house about thirteen and a half degrees away. A Full Moon in the seventh shows you the relationship at full illumination for one night — not resolved, visible. With Ketu on your sign and Rahu opposite it all month, the axis of the year runs between you and the person across from you.

On the calendar, August is shut for weddings from end to end: Chaturmas covers all thirty-one days, Venus is combust to 17 September, and Jupiter joins it from the 16th to 15 September. Nothing is available and nothing is being missed. The marriage muhurat page for August 2027 sets out the arithmetic in full.

Home tightens in the last week, when Mars enters your fourth house at 9:42 am on 24 August and stays past the end of the month. Mars in the fourth is friction under the roof: a repair pushed through, an argument about the property, impatience with the people you live with. Before that it spends twenty-three days in your third house, where it is genuinely useful — the third is an upachaya house and a malefic there gives courage rather than trouble. The griha pravesh page for August 2027 shows why the formal ceremony still waits.

Health

The first fortnight is the health signal, and it is about depletion rather than illness. Three planets crossing Ketu on your own rashi, with a New Moon there and six exact conjunctions in nine days, is the classical picture of a body being asked to carry more attention than it has energy for. In a Karka chart that usually shows up as the stomach, as fluid retention, and as sleep. The instruction is unglamorous: eat at fixed times between the 2nd and the 12th, and do not schedule anything demanding in that stretch.

Your two Chandra windows are 2:47 pm on 1 August to 2:16 pm on 3 August — forty-seven hours twenty-nine minutes, the shortest of any sign this month, with the New Moon almost exactly at its midpoint — and 12:53 am on 29 August to 1:02 am on 31 August, forty-eight hours nine minutes. Brahma muhurta on the 2nd and on the 30th, with the Moon on Karka both times, are the two strongest mornings in the month.

Remedies for Karka Rashi in August 2027

Four conditions define the month: a New Moon on your own sign at 3:35 pm on the 2nd; six of the month’s eight exact conjunctions happening on Karka Rashi between the 4th and the 12th, with Ketu there throughout; your second house of income filling to four planets by the 17th with its own lord among them; and a debilitated Saturn turning retrograde in your tenth house on the 9th.

  • Chandra practice on the five Mondays — 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 August: the month’s central practice, because the Moon rules your sign and the first Monday carries a lunation on the rashi. White rice, milk, water offered at dawn, and something eaten on time rather than skipped. See strengthening a weak Moon and Monday fasting.
  • Use the New Moon of the 2nd as an annual start: a lunation on your own sign happens once a year, and it falls twenty-four hours forty-eight minutes into your Chandra window. Whatever you intend for the next twelve months, name it on that Monday.
  • Ketu practice for a first-house transit: Ketu is on your rashi all month and three planets cross it exactly. Something given away regularly, and one thing about your own appearance deliberately left unmanaged, is the classical counterweight to Ketu in the first. See our Ketu remedies and the Rahu–Ketu page.
  • Shani observance on the Saturdays — 7, 14, 21 and 28 August: Saturn is debilitated in your tenth house of career and retrograde from the 9th, and it is the natural significator of work. Sesame oil, black til, mustard oil to a peepal after sundown. See Shani remedies and Saturday fasting.
  • Surya practice on the Sundays — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 August: the Sun rules your second house of income and enters it in its own sign on the 17th. Water offered at sunrise facing east, and jaggery or wheat given away. See Surya remedies and Sunday fasting.
  • Eat and sleep on a schedule between the 2nd and the 12th: six exact conjunctions on your own rashi in nine days is a depletion pattern, not a crisis. Fixed meals and early nights are the entire remedy.
  • Hold financial decisions for the 31st: your income house is strongest at the end of the month, when the second New Moon forms there at 11:11 pm and Mercury reaches exaltation at 1:57 am the same day. Prepare through August, sign in September.

In Summary

For Karka Rashi, August 2027 is the month the sky sits on your sign. The New Moon of 3:35 pm on Monday 2 August forms at 15°42′ of Cancer, in Pushya pada 4, on the rashi itself — and six of the month’s eight exact conjunctions happen there between the 4th and the 12th, with Ketu present throughout. No other sign gets that concentration in August 2027.

Then it moves into your money. Mercury on the 14th, Venus on the 16th and the Sun at Simha Sankranti on the 17th fill your second house of income to four planets, with the lord of that house arriving in its own sign, Jupiter already there, two exact conjunctions on the 20th and the 26th, and the second New Moon of the month at 11:11 pm on 31 August. Venus is combust throughout and Jupiter from the 16th, so the structure improves faster than the balance does.

Around it: the Full Moon of 12:58 pm on 17 August in your seventh house, opposite your rashi and about thirteen and a half degrees from Rahu; a debilitated Saturn turning retrograde in your tenth at 11:04 pm on 9 August; and two Chandra windows — the shortest of any sign, forty-seven hours twenty-nine minutes from the 1st to the 3rd, and a second of forty-eight hours nine minutes from the 29th. All of it is sign-level. Which of the nine Cancer padas holds your natal Moon, where the Moon sits in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it lands. For more, read July’s reading, what Karka Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our page on strengthening a weak Moon.

Six exact conjunctions on your own sign

Whether a New Moon and six conjunctions on the rashi reach you depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon and where the Moon sits in your own chart — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
