The 1st Lord in the 10th House

The 1st lord in the 10th house is the ruler of the 1st, the Lagna / Tanu Bhava, placed in the 10th, the Karma Bhava. The 1st is a kendra and a trikona and the 10th a kendra and an upachaya. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 1st, the 10th is the 10th house, which from any house is a kendra and an upachaya position; counted back from the 10th, the 1st is the 4th, a kendra position from it.

For Virgo (Mercury) and Pisces (Jupiter) one graha rules both the 1st and the 10th, so there is nothing to exchange.
