The 1st Lord in the 8th House

The 1st lord in the 8th house is the ruler of the 1st, the Lagna / Tanu Bhava, placed in the 8th, the Ayur / Mrityu Bhava. The 1st is a kendra and a trikona and the 8th a dusthana. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 1st, the 8th is the 8th house, which from any house is a dusthana position; counted back from the 8th, the 1st is the 6th, a dusthana and an upachaya position from it.
