The 1st Lord in the 4th House

The 1st lord in the 4th house is the ruler of the 1st, the Lagna / Tanu Bhava, placed in the 4th, the Sukha Bhava. The 1st is a kendra and a trikona and the 4th a kendra. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 1st, the 4th is the 4th house, which from any house is a kendra position; counted back from the 4th, the 1st is the 10th, a kendra and an upachaya position from it.

For Gemini (Mercury) and Sagittarius (Jupiter) one graha rules both the 1st and the 4th, so there is nothing to exchange.
