Counted from the 9th, the 8th is the 12th house, which from any house is a dusthana position; counted back from the 8th, the 9th is the 2nd.

Where the 8th lord sits in the 9th in the same chart as the 9th lord in the 8th, each lord occupies the other’s sign, an exchange the texts call parivartana. That is possible for eleven ascendants. For Gemini (Saturn) one graha rules both the 9th and the 8th, so there is nothing to exchange.
