Capricorn Rashifal December 2027 (Makara Rashi): Three Bodies Arrive On Your Own Sign in Twelve Days, and One of Them Is Exalted Because It Is Yours
Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji
Rahu has been standing on Makara all month, drifting backwards from 10°55′ to 9°17′. At 8:06 am on Wednesday 15 December Venus joins it. At 12:57 pm on Monday 27 December Mars joins them both — and Mars arrives exalted, because Capricorn is the sign in which Mars is exalted.
That last point is the one worth holding onto. Exaltation is not a transit that happens to pass through your sign; it is a statement about your sign. The most disciplined, most effective version of Mars in the whole zodiac is the version standing on Makara. For twelve days at the end of the year, the planet of effort is at its best while sitting where you live.
The complication is that Saturn, which rules your sign and therefore receives all three of these guests, has been retrograde in your third house for the whole month. It turns direct at 8:45 am on Friday 24 December — three days before Mars gets there. The host starts moving forward just before the strongest guest arrives.
An Exalted Mars, and What It Does Not Do
Mars crosses into Capricorn at 12:57 pm on Monday 27 December. Our table gives that minute; a different integration of the same series puts it seventeen minutes earlier, and this page prints the table value. Mars is exalted from the instant it crosses, and stays so for the rest of the year.
The classical texts add that Mars is deepest in its exaltation at the twenty-eighth degree of Makara. That is a convention of the shastra rather than something an ephemeris computes, so it is given here as a convention and not as a moment. It is also academic this month: Mars enters at zero degrees and reaches only 3°29′ by the 31st. What you get in December is the beginning of the exaltation, not its peak.
The same arithmetic corrects a claim you will see elsewhere. An exalted Mars landing on Rahu is a strong configuration, and it is not this one. Mars ends the month at 3°29′ while Rahu is at 9°17′ — five degrees forty-eight minutes apart. They share your sign for five days as neighbours. They do not meet, and nothing in December justifies calling it an exact pairing.
Venus On the Node’s Degree, Given as a Day
Venus reaches Rahu’s own degree, 9°44′ of Capricorn, around Thursday 23 December. That is published as a date rather than a clock time on purpose. Our table computes the node on the mean model; the mean and the true node can stand as much as one and three-quarter degrees apart, and Venus covers a little over a degree a day — so the choice of model moves the event by more than a full day. Where the arithmetic supports a minute this page prints one, as it does for Saturn’s station. Here honesty costs you the minute.
Venus with Rahu on your own sign is the month’s one real caution. It is the pair that inflates: how you are perceived, how you present, what you believe about your own position. Nothing about it is unpleasant — that is precisely the difficulty. Around the 23rd you are likely to be believed more readily than the facts warrant, and to believe yourself the same way. Do not commit to anything that depends on the flattering version being true.
There is a piece of geometry around that meeting which belongs to Makara alone. The boundary between Uttara Ashadha and Shravana sits at exactly ten degrees of your sign. Rahu retreats backwards across it on Saturday 18 December, leaving Shravana for Uttara Ashadha. Venus then advances forwards across the same boundary at 11:02 am on Thursday 23 December — and in the hours before it crosses, it is standing on the node’s exact degree at 9°44′. Two bodies over one boundary in opposite directions, five days apart, with the conjunction in the gap between.
Rahu’s crossing is given as a day and not a time because the node covers about three arcminutes an hour. At that speed the difference between one reasonable model and another is worth more than the difference between morning and evening, so a minute would be false precision.
Your Ruler Turns Direct on the Twenty-Fourth
Saturn spends all December in Pisces, your third house of effort, communication and siblings, moving backwards by only twenty-six arcminutes across the month and never leaving Revati pada 4 — the last quarter of the last nakshatra of the zodiac. It turns direct at 8:45 am on Friday 24 December at 26°50′.
Saturn owns both your first house and your second, so it is not merely your ruler in the abstract: it is the dispositor of everything arriving on your sign this month and of your earned income as well. A retrograde ruler is the reason the first three weeks feel like effort that does not register anywhere. From that Friday morning it registers.
This page gives the station to the minute but would not give a Saturn sign change the same way, and the distinction is worth stating once. A station follows from the geometry between the Earth and the planet and from nothing else, so every competent ephemeris agrees on it. A sign boundary crossed at twenty-six arcminutes a month depends on where that boundary is drawn, which depends on the ayanamsa a table uses. One is a fact about the solar system; the other is a fact about a convention.
Jupiter Aspects Your Own Sign Every Day of the Month
Jupiter sits in Virgo, your ninth house, for all thirty-one days, moving only 0°32′ to 3°03′ and never leaving Uttara Phalguni pada 2. A planet throws its fifth, seventh and ninth aspects, and from the ninth house Jupiter’s fifth lands squarely on your own sign.
That is the counterweight to Rahu, and it runs for the entire month without a break. Whatever the node does to inflate your self-presentation, the benefic is looking at the same sign the whole time. Jupiter’s other two aspects fall on your third house, where Saturn stations, and your fifth, where the Full Moon forms. Every important position in your December is under its eye.
One honest qualification. Virgo is Mercury’s sign, and in the classical friendship table Mercury and Jupiter are not friends. This is not debilitation — Jupiter’s fall happens to be in Capricorn, not in Virgo — but it is an unfriendly host. So the ninth-house support is real and conditional: it favours what can be justified in detail rather than what merely deserves luck.
December’s Longest Chandra Window Is Yours, for the Fifth Month Running
The Moon stands on Makara from 6:24 am on Thursday 2 December to 7:07 pm on Saturday 4 December — sixty hours forty-three minutes, with Friday the 3rd as its full day. That is the longest of December’s twelve Chandra windows, and it is the fifth consecutive month in which the longest window has been yours.
The run is also shrinking. August gave you sixty hours fifty-eight minutes, September and October sixty hours fifty-seven minutes each — identical to the minute — November sixty hours fifty-three, and December sixty hours forty-three. Not one month in that run has been longer than the one before it. This is the Moon’s orbit being slightly eccentric rather than anything mystical, but it does mean the advantage you have been carrying since August is quietly being handed on.
December gives Makara a second visit as well. The Moon returns to your sign at 2:03 pm on Wednesday 29 December and is still there when the year ends. Only one other sign gets two Chandra windows this month. This page does not print a duration for the second one, because the exit instant falls outside the table it was computed from, and an unsupported number is worth less than an admitted gap.
A Burnt Mercury in Your House of Income
Mercury is combust for every one of December’s thirty-one days — about six degrees behind the Sun on the 1st, exact with it at 3:46 am on Sunday 12 December at 25°23′ of Scorpio in Jyeshtha pada 3, and still only about eleven degrees ahead on the 31st. It never leaves the twelve-degree orb the classical texts read as asta.
For Makara that whole first fortnight happens in your eleventh house of income, gains and networks, with the Sun there too. Both then move into your twelfth — Mercury at 2:03 am on Wednesday 15 December, the Sun at 4:33 pm on Thursday 16 December. So the month starts with income visible and unreliable, and ends with expenditure quiet and unexamined.
Mercury covers 49°08′ in December, more ground than any other planet, so nothing is slow. A combust Mercury does not stall things; it omits them. The commission gets agreed and the condition attached to it does not get mentioned. In an income house, that is the month’s specific financial risk, and it is entirely fixable by reading the whole document.

Week by Week
Thirty-one days from a Wednesday to a Friday, which leaves December with only four Saturdays — the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th. Saturday is your ruler’s weekday, and only the last of those four falls after Saturn has begun moving forward again.
1–7 December
Your best week for anything personal, because the Moon is on your sign for the longest window of the month. Venus enters Purva Ashadha at 8:22 pm on Wednesday the 1st, the Moon reaches Makara at 6:24 am on Thursday the 2nd, the Sun enters Jyeshtha at 1:28 pm on Friday the 3rd, the Moon moves on at 7:07 pm on Saturday the 4th, Mars enters Purva Ashadha at 11:16 pm on Sunday the 5th, Mercury enters Jyeshtha at 2:24 pm on Monday the 6th. Vivah Panchami falls on Friday 3 December.
8–14 December
The income house takes the month’s peak burning. Mokshada Ekadashi and Geeta Jayanti fall on Thursday 9 December; the Sun and Mercury are exact in your eleventh house at 3:46 am on Sunday the 12th, with Venus changing nakshatra at 3:15 pm; the Full Moon forms in your fifth house at 9:38 pm on Monday the 13th. A promise about money made this week is worth exactly as much as the paperwork behind it.
15–21 December
The handover. Mercury moves into your twelfth house at 2:03 am and Venus reaches your own sign at 8:06 am on Wednesday the 15th; Dhanu Sankranti moves the Sun into your twelfth at 4:33 pm on Thursday the 16th and starts Kharmas; Rahu retreats across the ten-degree boundary on your sign on Saturday the 18th. From mid-week you have a benefic on your rashi for the first time this month.
22–28 December
The month’s densest week and all of it on or about your own sign. Venus meets Rahu’s degree on Thursday the 23rd and crosses into Shravana at 11:02 am; Saturn turns direct in your third at 8:45 am on Friday the 24th; Mars arrives exalted on your sign at 12:57 pm on Monday the 27th; the New Moon forms in your twelfth at 1:42 am on Tuesday the 28th. Saturday the 25th is the first Saturday with your ruler moving forward.
29–31 December
The year closes with Venus, an exalted Mars, Rahu and the Moon all on Makara, and Saturn moving forward. The Moon returns at 2:03 pm and the Sun enters Purva Ashadha at 6:44 pm on Wednesday the 29th. These are the three best days of the month for starting something you intend to carry into the new year.
Career and Money for Makara Rashi
Your tenth house, Libra, takes no graha this month, so career in December runs on your own sign rather than on the career house — which suits Makara, since what is on your sign from the 27th is an exalted Mars. That is capacity for sustained, unglamorous, effective work, arriving in the last week and carrying into January. Do not expect it to be noticed in December. Expect it to be worth something in the new year.
Income is the exposed department. Your eleventh house holds the Sun and a combust Mercury for the first fortnight with their exact meeting on the 12th, and your ruler is retrograde until the 24th. The combination reads as gains that are announced before they are secured. Get the terms in writing and reread them after the 24th, when Saturn is moving forward and you will see what you agreed to.
The Venus–Rahu meeting around the 23rd sits on your own sign rather than in a money house, so its effect on finances is indirect: it inflates your sense of your own standing, and people negotiate badly from an inflated position. Jupiter’s aspect from the ninth is the corrective all month. Our financial remedies, career remedies and Rahu–Ketu remedies pages cover the practice.
Home, Family and Partnership
Your seventh house, Cancer, holds Ketu in Pushya for all thirty-one days, opposite the Rahu on your own sign. The nodal axis across the first and seventh houses is the classical signature of a relationship in which one person is being seen and the other has stopped looking — and with Venus and then Mars joining your side of the axis, the imbalance tilts further towards you in the second half of the month. That is worth watching rather than enjoying.
The wedding calendar closes at Dhanu Sankranti, 4:33 pm on Thursday 16 December, and Kharmas runs from there to the middle of January, shutting sixteen of the month’s thirty-one days. Vivah Panchami falls on Friday 3 December, inside the open fortnight and inside your own Chandra window. The marriage muhurat page for December 2027 has the surviving dates, and our marriage delay page covers a stalled match.
Your fourth house, Aries, holds no planet, and its lord Mars spends the month arriving on your rashi rather than tending to it. Home matters therefore wait on Saturn, which owns your first and second and turns direct on the 24th. If a move or a renovation is planned, the last week is better than the first three, and the griha pravesh page has dates.
Health
Three bodies on the rashi is a physically busy month. Rahu on the sign tends to produce complaints that are real but hard to name, and hard to match to a test result. Venus from the 15th adds indulgence, and an exalted Mars from the 27th adds heat and the temptation to push through something that should be rested. None of that is dangerous. All of it responds to ordinary discipline, which is the thing Makara is best at.
Your sixth house of illness, Gemini, is empty, and its lord is the Mercury combust for all thirty-one days. That is the administrative warning rather than the physical one: referrals, results and authorisations are what go astray in a month like this. Confirm receipt in writing and keep the confirmation.
Makara’s standing weak points are the knees, the joints, the skin and the teeth, all Saturn’s departments, and Saturn is retrograde until 8:45 am on Friday 24 December. Anything chronic that has been circling should be picked up again after that morning. Your first Chandra window is 6:24 am on Thursday 2 December to 7:07 pm on Saturday 4 December. Remedies for Makara Rashi in December 2027
Four conditions define the month: Rahu on your own sign throughout, retreating across the ten-degree boundary on the 18th; Venus joining it at 8:06 am on 15 December and standing on its degree around Thursday 23 December; your ruler turning direct at 8:45 am on the 24th; and an exalted Mars reaching your sign at 12:57 pm on the 27th.
- Shani practice on the four Saturdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 December: iron, sesame oil, black til, and service to someone who cannot repay it. Your ruler owns your first and second houses and is retrograde for three of those four.
- Use the 2nd to the 4th: December’s longest Chandra window is on your sign, with Friday the 3rd as its full day.
- Negotiate nothing around the 23rd: Venus on Rahu’s degree on your own rashi inflates your sense of your own position, and that is a poor place to bargain from.
- Reread the first fortnight’s agreements after the 24th: your ruler is moving forward and a burnt Mercury governed the drafting.
- Mangal practice on the four Tuesdays — 7, 14, 21 and 28 December: red flowers, Hanuman Chalisa, and physical work. Mars is exalted on your sign from the day before the last of them.
- Start the long thing in the last week, not the first: an exalted Mars with a direct ruler is December’s only combination that rewards a beginning.
- Fix nothing to the marriage calendar after the 16th: Kharmas runs from Dhanu Sankranti to the middle of January.
In Summary
For Makara Rashi, December 2027 gathers three bodies on your own sign. Rahu holds it all month, retreating across the ten-degree nakshatra boundary on Saturday 18 December. Venus arrives at 8:06 am on Wednesday 15 December, stands on the node’s exact degree at 9°44′ around Thursday 23 December, and crosses that same boundary forwards at 11:02 am the same day. Mars arrives at 12:57 pm on Monday 27 December, exalted from the crossing, because Makara is where Mars is exalted — though it reaches only 3°29′ by the 31st and never comes near Rahu’s degree.
Saturn, which rules your sign and owns your first and second houses, turns direct in your third at 8:45 am on Friday 24 December. Jupiter aspects your own sign from the ninth for all thirty-one days. Mercury is combust every day of the month and exact with the Sun in your eleventh house of income at 3:46 am on Sunday 12 December. The Full Moon lands in your fifth at 9:38 pm on Monday 13 December and the New Moon in your twelfth at 1:42 am on Tuesday 28 December. December’s longest Chandra window is yours, from 6:24 am on Thursday 2 December, for the fifth month in a row.
All of this is computed for a whole sign, which is thirty degrees of sky and a great many different lives. Whether an exalted Mars on your rashi reads as capability or as aggression depends on where Mars and Saturn sit in your own chart, which of the nine Makara padas holds your natal Moon, and which dasha is running.
