Guru Ketu Yuti 2026-2027: Jupiter and Ketu in Leo, Cancer

Yuti as a Shared Sign (गुरु केतु युति)

Yuti is the word astrologers use for two grahas together, and in whole-sign practice it means two of them in the same rashi. This page uses it in that sense: Jupiter (Guru) and Ketu in one sign, for as long as both stay there. That is a stretch of days, not a moment. The site’s conjunction table does hold rows for the instant the two reach the same degree, but every one of them is computed on the mean node, which the site’s conjunction notes put up to 1.7° from the true node, and at the pace these two close on each other that is enough to move the instant by more than a day. This page prints none of them. What it gives instead is the shared-sign stretch, which is what a “Jupiter Ketu conjunction in 2026” amounts to in a whole-sign chart.

Some astrologers file Jupiter with Ketu under the name Guru Chandal; others keep that name for Jupiter with Rahu. The Guru Chandal yoga page sets out the three tests in use and shows that the Rahu version never forms in 2026–2028.

The Two Stretches, From the Ingress Table

Testing Jupiter’s sign against Ketu’s across the whole 2026–2028 table gives exactly two stretches. The first opens on 31 October 2026.

The two stretches are not equally firm. Three of the four ends are Jupiter’s own sign changes, rows the DE421 ephemeris fixes to the day. The fourth, 5 December 2026, is the day Ketu moves back from Leo into Cancer and Rahu from Aquarius into Capricorn, and the nodes’ rows are mean-node rows. So that end is soft by up to a day, and an almanac that follows the true node can put it further off. The Cancer stretch has no such soft edge: it begins when Jupiter, moving retrograde, slips back out of Leo, and ends when it goes forward into Leo again.

In between, from 5 December 2026 to 25 January 2027, Jupiter is still in Leo while Ketu has gone on to Cancer, the 12th sign counted from Leo. Measured as clock time, the shared sign holds for 9.7% of 2026 and 41.7% of 2027, a little over two-fifths of the second year. Those figures describe the sky, not the population: they say what fraction of the hours of each year had Jupiter and Ketu in one sign, which is not a count of who was born then.

Mars enters the same sign during both stretches. It is in Leo with the other two from 12 November 2026 until the node change, and in Cancer with them from 10 March 2027 to 26 April 2027, where the planet table counts Cancer as Mars’s debilitation sign. Jupiter’s Standing in Each Sign

The site’s planet table gives Jupiter Sagittarius and Pisces as its own signs, Cancer as its exaltation sign and Capricorn as its debilitation sign. So the two stretches differ in kind. In Cancer Jupiter is exalted, and the sign’s ruler, the Moon, is on Jupiter’s list of friends. In Leo it has no listed dignity; the ruler there is the Sun, also a friend in Jupiter’s row.

For Ketu neither sign carries a listed dignity. The planet table puts Ketu’s exaltation in Scorpio and its debilitation in Taurus “by the most common reckoning”, with Sagittarius and Gemini in other reckonings, and neither Leo nor Cancer is in either pair. Ketu’s row lists the Sun and the Moon among its enemies, and Jupiter as neutral. Jupiter’s row, for its part, does not name Ketu at all.

Which House, Lagna by Lagna

Counting whole signs from the lagna as the 1st house, the table gives the house that Leo and Cancer occupy for each of the twelve ascendants, and the houses Jupiter rules for that ascendant. A house number is a fact about the count. What the house holds for a particular person is a reading, and this page does not give one. The same count works from a Moon sign if you read the first column as the janma rashi, which is how gochara is reckoned.

Because Cancer comes straight before Leo, the Cancer house is always one less than the Leo house, with the 12th standing in for the 0th. Jupiter rules only Sagittarius and Pisces, so for no lagna does either stretch put it in a house it owns; the last column shows which houses it is lord of while it sits with Ketu. One overlap with another yoga is worth knowing. For Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn ascendants Cancer is a kendra, and Jupiter exalted in a kendra is one way to meet the condition for Hamsa yoga. That test looks at Jupiter’s sign and house only, so Ketu’s presence in the same sign does not enter it.

Jupiter transit 2027 dates every sign change Jupiter makes in the year, including the retrograde return to Cancer that opens the second stretch, and it notes that the Jupiter–Ketu conjunction rows are on the mean node and are not printed. The Associations the Tables Record

In the planet table Jupiter is the karaka of teachers and gurus, higher learning and dharma, among other things, and Ketu the karaka of moksha, renunciation and occult knowledge, among others. Astrologers who read the pairing work from those two lists, and they do not read it the same way. This page leaves the reading to them and says nothing about what the stretches will bring anyone.
