The 9th Lord for Gemini Ascendant: Saturn
9th house = Aquarius · lord Saturn · also lord of the 8th
With Gemini rising, the 9th house is Aquarius, the 9th sign counted from Gemini, and Aquarius is ruled by Saturn. So for Gemini ascendant the 9th lord is Saturn, which also rules the 8th through Capricorn: one graha holds the 9th and the 8th together for this ascendant. The 9th is a trikona, and the 8th a dusthana.
The lagna lord, Mercury, counts Saturn neutral, while Saturn counts Mercury a friend: for Gemini ascendant the 1st and 9th lords do not see each other the same way. The 9th’s matters are luck and fortune, father's influence, higher learning and pilgrimage; with Gemini rising they sit in Aquarius, a fixed air sign that is the 11th of the natural zodiac.
Aquarius as the 9th House of Gemini Ascendant
Aquarius exalts no graha in signs.js, so no graha is exalted in the 9th for Gemini ascendant, and it debilitates none. The house holds Dhanishta (padas 3 and 4), Shatabhisha (all four padas) and Purva Bhadrapada (padas 1, 2 and 3), whose lords are Mars, Rahu and Jupiter; Saturn rules none of them. Opposite, across the chart, the 3rd holds Leo, ruled by the Sun.
Where Saturn Is Strong and Weak, as Houses of Gemini Ascendant
Counted from Gemini, Saturn is exalted in the 5th, debilitated in the 11th, and in its own sign in the 8th and the 9th. Exaltation and debilitation are always six signs apart, so for Gemini ascendant the 9th lord’s best and worst houses face each other across the chart.
