The 7th Lord for Virgo Ascendant: Jupiter
7th house = Pisces · lord Jupiter · also lord of the 4th
With Virgo rising, the 7th house is Pisces, the 7th sign counted from Virgo, and Pisces is ruled by Jupiter. So for Virgo ascendant the 7th lord is Jupiter, which also rules the 4th through Sagittarius: one graha holds the 7th and the 4th together for this ascendant. The 7th is a kendra, and the 4th a kendra.
The lagna lord, Mercury, counts Jupiter neutral, while Jupiter counts Mercury an enemy: for Virgo ascendant the 1st and 7th lords do not see each other the same way. The 7th’s matters are spouse or partner, marriage, business partnerships and public relations; with Virgo rising they sit in Pisces, a dual water sign that is the 12th of the natural zodiac.
Pisces as the 7th House of Virgo Ascendant
Pisces exalts Venus, deepest at 27°, so for Virgo ascendant Venus is exalted in the 7th; it debilitates Mercury at 15°, so Mercury is debilitated in the 7th. The house holds Purva Bhadrapada (pada 4), Uttara Bhadrapada (all four padas) and Revati (all four padas), whose lords are Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury; Jupiter rules one of them, Purva Bhadrapada, so for Virgo ascendant the 7th lord also owns a nakshatra inside the 7th. Opposite, across the chart, the 1st holds Virgo, ruled by Mercury.
