The 4th Lord for Virgo Ascendant: Jupiter
4th house = Sagittarius · lord Jupiter · also lord of the 7th
With Virgo rising, the 4th house is Sagittarius, the 4th sign counted from Virgo, and Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. So for Virgo ascendant the 4th lord is Jupiter, which also rules the 7th through Pisces: one graha holds the 4th and the 7th together for this ascendant. The 4th is a kendra, and the 7th a kendra.
The lagna lord, Mercury, counts Jupiter neutral, while Jupiter counts Mercury an enemy: for Virgo ascendant the 1st and 4th lords do not see each other the same way. The 4th’s matters are mother's influence, home and property, inner contentment and vehicles; with Virgo rising they sit in Sagittarius, a dual fire sign that is the 9th of the natural zodiac.
Sagittarius as the 4th House of Virgo Ascendant
Sagittarius exalts no graha in signs.js, so no graha is exalted in the 4th for Virgo ascendant, and it debilitates none. The house holds Mula (all four padas), Purva Ashadha (all four padas) and Uttara Ashadha (pada 1), whose lords are Ketu, Venus and the Sun; Jupiter rules none of them. Opposite, across the chart, the 10th holds Gemini, ruled by Mercury.
