With Aries rising, the 2nd house is Taurus, the 2nd sign counted from Aries, and Taurus is ruled by Venus. So for Aries ascendant the 2nd lord is Venus, which also rules the 7th through Libra: one graha holds the 2nd and the 7th together for this ascendant. The 2nd is classed maraka (with the 7th) and panapara (succedent), and the 7th a kendra.
