The 7th Lord for Aries Ascendant: Venus
7th house = Libra · lord Venus · also lord of the 2nd
With Aries rising, the 7th house is Libra, the 7th sign counted from Aries, and Libra is ruled by Venus. So for Aries ascendant the 7th lord is Venus, which also rules the 2nd through Taurus: one graha holds the 7th and the 2nd together for this ascendant. The 7th is a kendra, and the 2nd classed maraka (with the 7th) and panapara (succedent).
The lagna lord, Mars, and the 7th lord, Venus, count each other neutral for Aries ascendant. The 7th’s matters are spouse or partner, marriage, business partnerships and public relations; with Aries rising they sit in Libra, a movable air sign that is also the 7th of the natural zodiac.
Libra as the 7th House of Aries Ascendant
Libra exalts Saturn, deepest at 20°, so for Aries ascendant Saturn is exalted in the 7th; it debilitates the Sun at 10°, so the Sun is debilitated in the 7th. The house holds Chitra (padas 3 and 4), Swati (all four padas) and Vishakha (padas 1, 2 and 3), whose lords are Mars, Rahu and Jupiter; Venus rules none of them. Opposite, across the chart, the 1st holds Aries, ruled by Mars.
Where Venus Is Strong and Weak, as Houses of Aries Ascendant
Counted from Aries, Venus is exalted in the 12th, debilitated in the 6th, and in its own sign in the 2nd and the 7th. Exaltation and debilitation are always six signs apart, so for Aries ascendant the 7th lord’s best and worst houses face each other across the chart.
