Jupiter in the 9th House

Jupiter, a benefic graha signifying children, teachers and gurus, higher learning, dharma, wealth, and the husband in a woman's chart, placed in the bhava of fortune, dharma, higher education, father, long-distance travel, gurus, philosophy — that pairing is the whole of what Jupiter in the 9th house means before a chart is opened. It is a closer fit than most: the 9th house counts Jupiter among its own natural significators, the karaka it is read through for dharma and the guru. A significator sitting in the bhava it signifies is read more literally than any other placement, because the graha and the house are asking the same question.
