The 8th Lord for Cancer Ascendant: Saturn
8th house = Aquarius · lord Saturn · also lord of the 7th
With Cancer rising, the 8th house is Aquarius, the 8th sign counted from Cancer, and Aquarius is ruled by Saturn. So for Cancer ascendant the 8th lord is Saturn, which also rules the 7th through Capricorn: one graha holds the 8th and the 7th together for this ascendant. The 8th is a dusthana, and the 7th a kendra.
The lagna lord, the Moon, counts Saturn neutral, while Saturn counts the Moon an enemy: for Cancer ascendant the 1st and 8th lords do not see each other the same way. The 8th’s matters are sudden change, occult and research and inheritance; with Cancer rising they sit in Aquarius, a fixed air sign that is the 11th of the natural zodiac.
Aquarius as the 8th House of Cancer Ascendant
Aquarius exalts no graha in signs.js, so no graha is exalted in the 8th for Cancer ascendant, and it debilitates none. The house holds Dhanishta (padas 3 and 4), Shatabhisha (all four padas) and Purva Bhadrapada (padas 1, 2 and 3), whose lords are Mars, Rahu and Jupiter; Saturn rules none of them. Opposite, across the chart, the 2nd holds Leo, ruled by the Sun.
Where Saturn Is Strong and Weak, as Houses of Cancer Ascendant
Counted from Cancer, Saturn is exalted in the 4th, debilitated in the 10th, and in its own sign in the 7th and the 8th. Exaltation and debilitation are always six signs apart, so for Cancer ascendant the 8th lord’s best and worst houses face each other across the chart.

Saturn Through the 8th and Its Exaltation House, 2026–2028
Saturn does not reach Aquarius, the 8th house of Cancer ascendant, between 2026 and 2028. It does not reach Libra, its exaltation sign and the 4th house of Cancer ascendant, in those years.
