The 10th Lord for Capricorn Ascendant: Venus
10th house = Libra · lord Venus · also lord of the 5th
With Capricorn rising, the 10th house is Libra, the 10th sign counted from Capricorn, and Libra is ruled by Venus. So for Capricorn ascendant the 10th lord is Venus, which also rules the 5th through Taurus: one graha holds the 10th and the 5th together for this ascendant. The 10th is a kendra and an upachaya, and the 5th a trikona. That pairing puts a kendra and a trikona other than the 1st in one graha’s hands for Capricorn ascendant.
The lagna lord, Saturn, and the 10th lord, Venus, count each other a friend for Capricorn ascendant. The 10th’s matters are career and profession, public reputation, authority and achievements; with Capricorn rising they sit in Libra, a movable air sign that is the 7th of the natural zodiac.
Libra as the 10th House of Capricorn Ascendant
Libra exalts Saturn, deepest at 20°, so for Capricorn ascendant Saturn is exalted in the 10th; it debilitates the Sun at 10°, so the Sun is debilitated in the 10th. The house holds Chitra (padas 3 and 4), Swati (all four padas) and Vishakha (padas 1, 2 and 3), whose lords are Mars, Rahu and Jupiter; Venus rules none of them. Opposite, across the chart, the 4th holds Aries, ruled by Mars.
