The 1st Lord for Capricorn Ascendant: Saturn
1st house = Capricorn · lord Saturn · also lord of the 2nd
With Capricorn rising, the 1st house is Capricorn, the ascendant itself, and Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. So for Capricorn ascendant the 1st lord is Saturn, which also rules the 2nd through Aquarius: one graha holds the 1st and the 2nd together for this ascendant. The 1st is a kendra and a trikona, and the 2nd classed maraka (with the 7th) and panapara (succedent).
Saturn is therefore the lagna lord of Capricorn ascendant itself. The 1st’s matters are personal identity and life direction; with Capricorn rising they sit in Capricorn, a movable earth sign that is the 10th of the natural zodiac.
Capricorn as the 1st House of Capricorn Ascendant
Capricorn exalts Mars, deepest at 28°, so for Capricorn ascendant Mars is exalted in the 1st; it debilitates Jupiter at 5°, so Jupiter is debilitated in the 1st. The house holds Uttara Ashadha (padas 2, 3 and 4), Shravana (all four padas) and Dhanishta (padas 1 and 2), whose lords are the Sun, the Moon and Mars; Saturn rules none of them. Opposite, across the chart, the 7th holds Cancer, ruled by the Moon.

Counted from Capricorn, Saturn is exalted in the 10th, debilitated in the 4th, and in its own sign in the 1st and the 2nd. Exaltation and debilitation are always six signs apart, so for Capricorn ascendant the 1st lord’s best and worst houses face each other across the chart.

Saturn Through the 1st and Its Exaltation House, 2026–2028
Saturn does not reach Capricorn, the 1st house of Capricorn ascendant, between 2026 and 2028. It does not reach Libra, its exaltation sign and the 10th house of Capricorn ascendant, in those years. The dates are days only. A transit is the sky, not a chart: it touches every Capricorn-rising chart’s 1st house at once.
